Is Brand ult supposed to fizzle when it hits Fiora's Riposte?

They recently made a change to Brand where zhonyas and spellshields would stop the damage of his ult, but it would continue bouncing. I noticed that Fiora W stops the bouncing altogether and I was wondering if that was a bug.

Not a bug, she parries it, deleting it from existence.

Considering she parries every single ability in the game (including ignite, exhaust, vlad/zed death marks) I'd say it's intended lol

Sakura Mirage9/24/2015, 5:37:50 PM9 votes

Probably intended.

Same as Yasuo's windwall, the spell is deleted

Yeah as a brand main in teamfights that is really annoying

Fiora's W stops anything altogether, so yeah it's intended.

This is actually a good question. Upvote for you! I could see both arguments holding true here.

Why do you think Fiora is permanently banned across all ELO?

Riot just throws in an ability like that clearly not even considering the impact it has.

Nothing stops the rework powercreep.

Yasuo and Braum's walls weren't cancer enough.

Ripost stops everything. EVERYTHING.

imo it should bounce off but give fiora the stuff for blocking it

New Mechanic's trump old abilities for design concern.

It's how Riot has worked since the dawn of League.

Brand's ult is spotty right now. I've had it fizzle plenty of times when it shouldn't - in theory, it's supposed to continue towards another target rather than "bounce", so if somebody else is in range, it's supposed to randomly pick and choose who the next victim is. It hasn't, however, with a Zhonya's consistently resulting in the spell fizzling when plenty of secondary targets are within casting range.

Pretty sure it's intended. Riposte parries EVERYTHING. Tis no longer once parried. Therefore, she ripostes your flame and makes it vanish, so it's no longer there to bounce anywhere. #balance

It makes sense if brand ult is coded as a debuff that does damage and launches a new bouncing fireball.
