Let's Talk About URF

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter so comments are greatly appreciated.

Alright, if you've read the dev post on URF being back, they said it's only going to be a one time thing. Why? Because it "makes players burned out on the game and then quick League of Legends entirely". I'm sorry, but I'm calling bullshit. The reason it was initially changed was because players were either complaining that they couldn't ban enough champions or that their champion they wanted to play was permabanned. I highly doubt that players would straight up stop playing League of Legends by playing a game mode that came out once a year on April Fool's day. Sure, players might take a bit of a break because they played the shit out of what is one of the greatest game modes League has ever conceived, but chances are they made their way back to playing again at one point or another. And if this burning out thing is true, then by this logic ARURF would have the same "burning out" effect as URF because it's still the same game. The only reason it wouldn't is because ARURF is not a fun game mode and people stop playing it due to heavy team imbalances, never getting a champion they effectively know how to play, or not being able to enjoy their champion that they were SO lucky to get because the rest of their team doesn't know what the hell they're doing with their champion.

Riot is giving players a taste of the once amazing greatness of URF once again. Players that have only ever known ARURF will want more of actually ENJOYING the game mode. Riot KNOWS we want URF. So they're being nice enough to bring it back for the 10 year anniversary. Unfortunately (according them) we will never get to play it ever again despite this being what the players want. In my opinion, they should at least bring regular URF back once a year on April Fool's day like they used to do.

Ironically, URF coming back is the reason I'm coming back to League from taking a break from it. I had to go through a whole ordeal with getting my account unbanned because of some possible hacking shenanigans (which Riot Support was very helpful and understanding. You guys are awesome) just so I could play this game mode. It was my absolute favorite part of League and I was excited when it would come out every year on April Fool's since it was made.

I dont think you can call bullshit when they posted their (quite clear) statistics years ago showing that, yes, players do quit in mass numbers for extended periods after urf. Unless you have a better explanation for the released data set, you cant just call it BS.

community is too toxic

Dumbfucks find a meta, can handle just fighting the strong stuff, instead they rage and quit or just dodge

It then will slowly get you tilted, that noone else is willing to just have fun

Every game will end by 20 minutes as a one sided snowball

The catipult is bad for the game, as are the drakes

Basically you have a coordinated 5 man or your game is just a match of gods vs starving orphans

Snowballing is rediculous

Source? I've been playing on PBE
