I think you should at least have mastery 5-7 to play in ranked.

I know I know, I posted threads like this before, and most people react with "some people play with ranked" and "don't restrict this that for players, let them play ranked" or "Look at your own winrate buddy". I just want to clear this up. I've been duoing with a friend and we climbed all the way to silver 1 this season, but along the way, I click on profiles of players and see they either suck or smurf, which sucks both ways. **People who "first time" champions in ranked **(For now, Senna, which is really annoying since many people first time new champs, like when qiyana came out and yuumi came out, when people played them in ranked as they were released) usually are ok, yeah, but even though how simple your champion is, you're not going to know the complex combos of your champs, for example, rengar you would know most of his kit if you first time him, and do ok and kite out jungle camps, but compare to an m7 rengar who knows the bush trick and the triple q combos and stuff like that. Also, wanted to point out to the people reading this that_ just because mobalytics or proguides said play this champion to win, doesn't necessarily mean that it gives you free wins in ranked._ Smurfing on the other hand, puts players who are the same rank at a disadvantage because they're a higher rank than you, and smurfs are very abundant in ranked. Now, an easy solution to prevent seeing more smurfs and beginners in ranked is to allow a mastery 5-7 to play in ranked. Now, how this would work is that in order to start ranked, similar to when you hit level 30, it will require level 30 and 16 champions AND mastery 5-7. Now this would encourage players to practice their champs and know their combos. The good side to adding this system is:

  1. It will prevent smurfs from easily getting on to ranked.
  2. It will show a heads up on your opponent to see what their actual skill level is.
  3. Players will have to practice in normals and get better to climb the ranked ladder.
  4. Players will take ranked more serious Just wanted to share my idea to to Riot, thanks for reading my post and give me feedback if you can.

Now use your brain for a moment. Lets see we put it in Mastery 7. Do you have 20 champs (5 bans per team + 5 picks per team) with Mastery 7? No? Sad life, because you wont be able to play ranked

You did get autofilled to adc? Sad, you have to play an Singed adc because some inteligent guy though the best idea was to put Mastery 7 as minimum to play a champ in ranked

You can have 999999999999999999999 mastery points with a champion and still feed, still have no idea what you are doing with it. Just like you can get destroyed by people first timing a champion.

The main thing that matters is your own personal skill and if that sucks then you can put an entire year just playing the same champion nonstop and still suck

Why do you guys think that first timing a champion in ranked is okay? It's not, in whatever way, it's not. So cut it out with the bs.

it doesn't matter. there is a skill to this game called visualisation. you can either visualise what the champion can do with combined mechanics when you first see the kit (I had this happen with ekko and ire rework and recently qiqi, also old fiora and sej but we can't have nice things) or you can't visualise the champion and, if you were to learn that champion that you cannot visualise the learning curve would be much more mechanical or steeped, as opposed to being a graceful curve of gathered experience without a mechanical wall between pilot and champion.

maybe you get some successful visualisers on your team or on opposing team trying out the new champ, or you get a smurf who just visualises the game at a higher level overall (better fundamentals) or you get a feeder cause someone is just trying to learn something they really want to learn. and all of those are ok, we teach each other how to play the game afterall. or maybe we're straight up Darwinian and we don't do that. hmmm, dunno
