What is rank placement mechanism??

I won 9 placement games with 130/46/118 (kill/death/assist) and after placement matches, game put me at bronze V :D Just tell me what is the difference between who win 0 in placement matches and the one who win 9 or 10?? both bronze V? so why should i try win my games? I really wasted my time....
