I remember he was really strong and he still is in bronze but as you keep climbing up he is pretty weak it's just his passive that makes him strong in team fights and even then he can get cc'd to death xD i wanted to see what you guys think about him right now?

Darius puts on pressure exactly how he's meant, which is up close and one-on-one. Darius can manage and has the tools for groups, but he sorely lacks any real way to commit to more than one kill at a time. Until he commits to one and makes it; it's not when Darius is approaching you that scares you, but when his passive starts kicking up and ~600 health can really just equal 0.

He's not meant to be some omni-classing jugger-nuts, he's a juggernaut with the heart of what makes a juggernaut just that; a terrifying, overwhelming melee presence. By the time he's two builds in, Darius is spinning like a helicopter, lapping up health, while handing out hooks and slows. Darius doesn't care how close you get to him-- he's going to want you there, and keep you there. All he needs to do is rack up the passive, or equalize the fight off enough healing to see you run off with your tail between your legs.

Honestly, I think he's perfect. He gets going when he gets going and falters when he can't, he's got obvious strengths and weaknesses, and good matchups and bad matchups. With a little elbow grease, he can make a bad situation at least less bad, and when he's on top of his game he's still just a bear-down melee that can very easily be kept at bay.

I believe people who find him too strong have an unfortunate tendency to commit to fights they shouldn't be in in the first place. I find people try to stop and trade out Darius up close, when the real first step to Darius is ensure that he's not going to gapclose you with a pull or a flash/ghost, and then play keep-away as best you can.

I'm not sure if I'd consider Darius terribly lacking in anything. Maybe, just maybe, he should trade some latent offense and get a bit of latent defense, maybe on his passive somewhere. But even then, I think he's great as-is and his item synergies line up pretty neatly, providing him with multiple answers to multiple problems and compositions.

I think if he feels pale, it's because his comparisons are becoming more generalist while retaining Juggernaut feels.
