People that suggest "ramp up damage" for ADCs are extremely tilted and need your sympathy

The only thing suggesting "ramp up damage" does is let everyone know that you don't play adc. There's also a good chance your master strategy in game is making a B-line to the enemy adc, walking straight through their frontline, and you're supposed to win because you're a tank/assassin even though you're 3 levels down and have a 70 cs deficit.

"Ramp up damage" would kill the role and make it unfun. The whole game would have to be changed in order to make a mechanic this bad be viable. Crit functions exactly as "sustained damage over time" but math was never your strong suit so you don't understand why that is. As an experiment, try playing an adc with all zeal items and see how that goes.

Excuse me? Tanks and assassins are supposed to do exactly that, by design. It is nowadays, that adcs are spoiled beyond belief, they think that it is normal to act as a frontline and draintank on marksmen. This is why you have at least a support peeling for you, and normally your frontline as well.

Just stop, this post isn't for you circle-jerk people.

In what world are you living?

Oh yeah, ADCs just love when their fate gets put in the hands of their teammates. Being team-dependent is so fun, they're spoiled because of it!

What ADCs need is damage based on the targets MaxHP (that gets reduced by resistances) and items that increase this value.

They will remain the must-have pick in any comp, won't be able to burst squishies and get to be the actual DPS class.

Now, commence (the downvote) attack

Yeah, in a tower defense game it's helpful to have damage to kill the things defending the nexus. Ofc it's always going to be an important role.

Agree on that. It's one of the few legit reasons ADCs should be kept mandatory, as much as it may suck.

Not necessarily. Mages also deal good damage onto towers, since 40% of their AP gets converted to damage on the tower. Especially with lich bane and nashor's tooth, you can see some mages take towers down faster than adcs.

I also think more maxHP damage is perfectly fine as an option. I just hate that almost all adcs build alike and there's not much diversity or adaptation. I don't think pushing adcs to an anti tank role is ideal. In the end, it should depend both on the champion and on how you want to build. The key value should be that there are tradeoffs to make.

Nashor does not affect towers, and AP damage to towers only kicks in once it's more than the champ's AD iirc.

The on-hit doesn't but the attack speed does, and I'm well aware that it only kicks in once it's more than the ad, but that isn't hard to get. With lich bane their damage is already darn good on towers. I just mentioned nashor's for novelty effect, but it does have an effect, though you don't really need it as an ap to take towers down fast.

not an adc main (except morde) i hate adcs and i find them broken atm

but ramp up damage idea is so fcking dumb

even morde who's a big DPS champ deals burst damage to squishies due to how his damage are high against tanks

Usually I'd bother explaining why you're wrong, with proper reasoning and examples to back it up, but since you're just insulting random people without actually understanding what you're talking about, and in the process embarassing yourself, I won't, unless you actually reply with extensive arguments backing up your claim.

That being said, I don't think ramp up damage should be slapped onto every adc, I think it's an interesting option for adcs that wish to participate in long fights where they want to kite tanky dudes first. A somewhat opposite avenue is also fine, for example something along the lines of the old sword of the divine, where you activate it to burst harder but then are weaker after the active is over. Whatever the option presented, nothing should be pushed too overboard. This isn't dota, even though it looks more and more like it is, the more time passes.

Also, according to your claim, all fervor of battle adcs are unviable, dead and unfun, given that it's ramp up damage.

Regardless, I've already said too much. Shouldn't bother with people who insult me...

Why should I feel sympathy for people who bring down the quality of discussion on this board?

If your expectations for ADC balance are that they are so terrible to the point of being nearly unplayable, or in your terms, "balanced", then you're never going to be happy. Just stop worrying about it, maybe play a few games of ADC and you'll be better at playing against them.
