BoTRK rework

EDIT: After looking back at the original proposal, I acknowledged that I was still thinking at BoTRK damage as if it was a first rush-item on some champs and I was still calculating the damage comapring to actual BoTRK. After rethinking about it, and rethinking about GW strength, I felt like the original proposal was too punishing vs squishies both on passive and active(exploitable by some snowballing assassin) and it didn't hit tank uber health scaling. Now I hope to have fixed both the problems with the adjusted numbers

Since 4.10 patch, the meta has shifted toward the dominion of marksmen and assassins Most of the assassins have been hit/will be hit , marksmen are not being touched

While Riot would need to seriously rethink/rebalance the whole AD/armor/health related itemization, one of the most urgent problems to face is the Blade of the ruined King, that discourage so much building health that has put health tanks completely out of the meta BoTRK in the actual iteration has gone beyond its original purpose, being the anti-tank item, has becomed too good that it does scare any champ that has to build some kind of health someway

So it need to be reworked

Blade of the Ruined King item 3153

Bilgewater Cutlass item 3144 (1400g) + Cloak of Agility item 1018 (730g) + Long Sword item 1036 (360g) + 770g + 610g = 2900 gold 3100gold

25 35 AD 10% LS 20% critical chance

Passive Unique: Your attacks deal 4% 2% (+0,45% per 1000 HP) of the target's max health in physical damage (60 max vs minions and monsters). Passive Unique: Your basic attacks inflict Grievous Wounds on enemy champion for 1.5 seconds

Active: On your next basic attack, deal additonal 6% 7,5% target max health (+ 25% AD ** +25% bonus AD**) in physical damage (min. 100) and healing you for the damage dealt. Additionally you steal 35% of their movement speed for 3 seconds - 90 seconds cooldown

...how does "oh, this item does %current hp so we need to nerf it for tanks" translate into "free grievous wounds and %max hp damage"?

And passive being processed less times because of the removed AS? And tanks suffering way less damage at the start of the battle when they are full health thus surviving way longer?

First, max hp means this does more damage anytime past 50% hp.

Second, just noticed the active. Dear god, do you understand how overpowered that active is? Here's a comparison; kog'maw and malzahar's % max hp spells, on AP (which is more common and in greater amounts then AD), have a 1% per 100 Ap scaling. If you don't realize, that means with 100 AD the active would have a bonus 25% max hp damage. As in, an assassins could literally 100-0 anyone with 400 AD (Zed gets a free dash and escape, nukes one person, and presses 1 and deletes another!).

WHAT? What the hell did you read? -.-" That is not additional max hp damage -.-" It is additional flat damage (added to the 6% max hp damage), noob The active would be less powerful than the actual one unless you go full AD

How this is even a nerf ?? It's like a tremendous buff that's going to make every ad champion build it and make tanks even worse than they already are

Except you are forgetting the part where the passive is actually processed less times because of the removed AS, and that AD assassins got less damage from active if they go with the BoTRK + tank build?

Add to the context for the ones that do not understand : the removal of AS is the biggest thing of this rework and what would represent the true nerf. The problem with actual BoTRK is not really that it shred tanks, but that it does it so fast because the on-hit passice can be applied very fast because of the AS. While ADCs are supposed to counter tanks, tanks still have to be able to survive a bit against them since they buy defensive itemization. With the actual AS the item gives, the passive is applied way too many times, and this happen against any kind of champ That's why removing AS is so important, along with focusing on max health rather than current health. Removing AS the passive will applied less times than now, which would benefit all the champs that have to face BoTRK, and the focus on max health restrict his niche because BoTRK efficiency will vary a lot upon the target you are using against it, rather than being good against anyone because you can apply it a lot of times anyway

Numbers could be tweaked on passive? Maybe. But the concept would be clear

It looks like BoTRK rework is a popular argument of discussion here on boards

So, what are your suggestions for a BoTRK rework?
