@riot removing strength of ages removes playstyle choices. here are examples

many times i would like to play kat with this build

boots, visage, deadmans, warmogs, liandry, rylai, strength of ages

with this build kat would be very tanky and durable, and still output decent levels of damage. and her bouncing Q would bounce to 6 people dealing damage and applying liandry rylai slow/burn. it was very decent bouncing poke on a low cooldown (35% cdr if you ran 15% cdr quints which i did). or 40% cdr if you throw in three CDR blues too

anyway. this kat playstyle was fun and unique and didnt feel overpowered at all

i see nothing wrong with having the OPTION/CHOICE to spend your resources into tank stats to SHOCKING be tankier and do less damage

with my tank kat build, i WAS doing LESS DAMAGE, and i was TANKIER. i believe players should have this fair trade off option on what to spend stats into

and next. tank items are generally 50% stronger than damage items in pure gold value and "combat power". this is because if damage items were as strong as tank items in gold value then there would be no point to buy tank items.

when a tank "goes in" hes usually tanking 5 enemies are once. so his items NEED to have extra gold value for him to survive for more than 2 seconds

so this is why strength of ages gave 300 health, and thunderlords dealt ~240 magic damage (at lvl18 fullbuild). so thunderlords would come down to dealing 120 actual damage past MR (most people have 100 MR at lvl18) while strength of ages gave 300 health

this was a totally resonable "value" for both masterys considering one gave TANKNESS and one gave DAMAGE

now with strength of ages removed, you lose the "general tankness" mastery and pretty much all champs will just get a damage mastery instead (thunderlords or deathfire fervor)

so in the end, my kat build does not change (i can still buy those tank items) but i will just have 300 less health

which feels dumb. because i wanted to spend my mastery power into more tankness. to buff up the build and be even tankier. but now i cant do that

so removing strength of ages doesnt even do much, it just feels dumb, because we can STILL put our GOLD into tank stats, we just cant spend our mastery into tank stats anymore? that feels restricting for no reason, riot

You could get Grasp or Bond. Courage will not help Kat, but then again, I dont think Riot wants Kat too tanky.
