Rakan's Auto Attacks should proc Relic Shield's Execution

I can understand it a tiny bit, being that his aa range is a little wider than a typical melee champion, but watching his autos, they're literally just feathery bitch slaps. Why don't they proc Relic's charges the same way Leona would do? Is there any plan for this to be a thing?

he is a ranged champion that isnt meant to build tank you dont need relic

That logic doesn't make sense to me. This is why I'm asking about it.

I cannot fathom how someone who has no projectile basic attack is considered ranged. Further, Relic Shield can be quite beneficial on Rakan because of his hard engages with W.

Which is why I'm wondering if this is something that Riot can look at.

Vel'Koz, Azir and Thresh's AAs have no projectiles and are still classified as ranged. They probably classified Rakan as ranged precisely to stop him from building Relic Shield. Which I find weird because most Rakans go for a pseudo tank/enchanter build.

Having never played Vel'Koz, I'll take your word on it. I can't watch him much in-game because I'm almost never in his lane.

Thresh has the extendable chain though, so I can see him being classified as ranged to a little more of a degree, as with Azir and his spear, 'cos, y'know, long pointy stick.

Thanks for catching that!

I just don't quite get the aspect of it with Rakan because feathery bitch slaps. The farthest that range would extend is to the end of his cape, which doesn't ostensibly streeeeetch to smack people, that I can tell.

Because Rakan's range for basic, unmodified, auto-attacks is longer than melee champs', it's double or more than the majority of melee champions in the game. Feathery slap or not that's far more than just a "little wider". Just like with Thresh, it not being an arrow or the like does not signify that it is not a ranged attack.

Ahaaaa, I think I get it.

That being said I'd be more than okay with his AA range being nerfed. He benefits tremendously from Relic.

But thanks for explaining it :)

Tbh they should just reduce his rage a bit and make him melee

sorry, riot's balancing team isnt intelligent enough to realize that.
