I'm trying to learn ryze he's a great and interesting champ but I'm having some trouble. Could I get some ryze mains to help me learn him better? I feel like I have a few combos down and my laning is ok with him, I'd like some help with positioning and team fighting with him. I greatly appreciate any advice.
I love Ryze as well, and am here to help! So. This is how I play him, and you may adapt your own plastyle over time. Walking into lane, I get E first, and spam it on the casters to clear them out, pushing the minions into the turret. Basically, every lane is a farm lane unless you see an opportunity to trade with your opponent. Roaming can also be good as long as you know the tradeoffs. For skill max, I go: E first, Q second, W third and then Q>E>W and put a point into ult whenever I can. For summoner spells, I take
to keep in range of my target and to re-position when I get caught out. Since combos are a core to Ryze's gameplay, I should probably share those as well:
Waveclear: E+E+Q To kite/escape a gank/GOTTA GO FAST!: E+W+Q. Max DPS: Q+E+Q+W+Q+E+Q (Your W and E reset the cooldown of your Q, but you lose the movespeed and shield for more DPS)
I take Thunderlords for the extra burst, but Stormraiders can work as well if you like to go fast. For items, the standard build is

just dont run into their team, play at mid range u are not a tank remember that. Use ur ult to roam if poss =)
