Jaurim's Fist; VERY underwhelming

So Jaurim's is a cool concept but i think its really weak and not cost effective.

For 450 gold you get 5 damage and then if you dont miss a creep in lane it takes an additional 2.5 minutes to get the extra 150 hp. Yeah it doesnt sound terrible and its not, BUT every single item that Jaurim's builds into requires an extra Ruby Crystal. If you're inventory space allows it, you can have 300 hp and 10 damage right away for 1150 and 0 minutes farming with the 2nd crystal.

Other combos to consider include giants belt+longsword($1350): 380 hp and 10 dmg or Pickaxe+Ruby($1275) :25dmg 150 HP

again non of this is bad BUT if i have three options of almost doing the same exact thing shouldnt the advanced version stand out and be more useful than the others?

Just spit balling off the top of my head

  • Upgrading J fist gives 50 life and 5 dmg, changed from 0 health 5 dmg. *

  • Bump up the price of J fist and use pick axe or giants belt in the formula to take away competition and make the item stronger. This might be a pain because you'd have to adjust the legendary upgrades: all cost more; Steraks: 30% base or 600 hp, Frozen mallet: 50 dmg or 750 hp, Titanic: 60 dmg or 550 hp idk something funky

~ any ideas or justifications as to why J fist is fine as is?

You have to view it like item 3191. It's not meant to be a great item on it's own, but it is intended to scale a bit before you get to your final item of choice, whether it's Mallet, Steraks, or Titanic Hydra. 300 health and 15 AD for 1200 gold is very gold efficient and that extra 150 health gives you some extra durability before you transition into one of those 3 items.

This is true but arm guard also only builds into one item and is the only APRIL ARMOR item. There are 0 things to replace it with so. That's why I brought up combos of pickax and giants belt. Like I said I know jfist isn't bad? But compared to standard items it does nothing better

I still find it odd that bonus attack damage from Jaurim's disappears in exchange for base attack damage from sterak's.

25% of your base damage SCALES. That 10 long sword damage is pale in comparison. It doesn't really disappear, it is transferred into the percentage base damage.

Abilities that scale on bonus attack damage do suddenly lose that AD.

In short, it does disappear.

This item seems just a bit awkward for me , I kinda buy it only when I want Titanic Hydra, but when I want the Hydra... I rush it. So it is kinda ok, but not really as amazing as any other defensive low cost item.

It could be cool if they increased the stack limit, or increase the bonus HP on champion kills/assists.

I don't think it really needs to be powerful tho, because its upgrades bring a lot to the table. I think they made it so that players have an OK time against Juggernauts/Bruisers , and then the problems when that champion upgrades it.

the item could make a good starting item instead.

More fun than Dorans shield.

This item grants you around-if not exactly- a full health potion in Maximum HP as a bonus for free. It pays for itself in that one transaction. It means you will need 1 less health pot in lane, and let's you do the same. And If you get 4 base kills (kills on people with no kill streak and are worth the base 300 gold) The item has payed for itself and MORE by offering 20 max hp.

That's just my thought.
