Make Lethality Great Again

Since Lethality isn't as good as it was planned to be, this is my opinion of something that could be done:

Why not replace what Lethality does and make it convert a small portion of your physical damage into true damage? Instead Lethality would have a percentage cap of ~10% (maybe lower) and that percentage of your physical damage converts to true damage only against other champions (similar to Irelia W ). The damage should be capped to 50 -70 to avoid 100+ true damage basic attacks (cough Jhin cough).

**Example: **

If I deal 100 physical damage to a champion and I have 10% Lethality (new stat). I would deal instead 90 physical damage (reduced by armor) and 10 true damage.

This is what it would look like in an item:

**Edge of the Night **item 3814

+35 magic resistance +60 attack damage

  • 3% Lethality

Passive UNIQUE: +15 Lethality (6.5 - 15 (based on target's level) armor penetration) UNIQUE: +20 movement speed out-of-combat.

Active UNIQUE: Channels for 1.5 seconds to gain a Spell Shield spell shield that blocks the next enemy ability within the next 10 seconds (45 second cooldown). Damage will interrupt the channel. You can move while channeling. If the channel is interrupted, the item is put on a reduced 5 second cooldown.

In my opinion this would be a much better way to deal with super tanks like Poppy Nautilus Malphite , etc.

Lethality is meant to be terrible vs tanks. And it should continue to be; tanks should never be an assassin's target.

It's also kind of redundant since Duskblade basically does exactly this. You get 200% of all Lethality build plus the base 50 as extra true damage.

I would rather see Lethality reworked to actually support what assassins need; a way to snowball their lead. Currently it's a late game stat that's supposed to be bought on mid-game champions. Something's got to change with it since it isn't doing its job.

"again" implies it was ever "great". the whole point of "lethality" was to make an armor pen that WASN'T op
