Why Kalista is the end of non mobility champions.

Kalista is the most mobile champion in the game so far with her dashes. I was in a game as master yi and had a hard time catching her without my ultimate. she has so much mobility she can siege a tower with her support and just ult and run taking almost no damage. She is crazy ungankable and even with exhaust and my ult it was hard to catch her. I feel that Kalista can be the end of mobility creep if we speak up about the amount of mobility any champ has to have to keep up with these guys. If we don't the worst that can happen is champions that can dash to the summoner platform for an insta kill and TP away without even using a summoner spell.

Kalista is super overrated. Wait a few months and watch her fall out of favor because she isn't as good as everyone claims she is.

To actually post something worth a read instead of my 1 liner in opposition to all the circle jerk kalista hype above, i'll say this.

Kalista's loses to a ton of lane match ups bot. While she is good at kiting backwards it's easy to either not chase her or cc chain with gap close and kill her. The champion is cool and pretty fun but I think she is a mid tier adc. Non mobility champions will still be relevant because there are champions without insane mobility that can stomp champions with mobility. cc > mobility.

So, how many ADC's don't have mobility? That you saw played at Worlds?

Kog'Maw. And you have to build a whole team around shielding him. All of the other ones have mobility skills.

Then again, every lane and the jungle generally already have to have mobility. The only exception was the wave clear/wombo combo types (Orianna/Syndra/Rumble/Ziggs). Obv Ahri/Zed have both though.

CC is useless if you can't gap close or will always be out-positioned. Non-mobility champions that aren't APC with monster dragon winning ultimates haven't been relevant in a long time.

I think at this point we have to accept that mobility skills are just a part of the expected ADC kit now. It's just too important to be able to dodge damage or reposition quickly. The immobile ADCs that see play will be the exception, rather than the rule.

I don't really think this is true.

Zilean Twitch Janna DrMundo TwistedFate Nami Fiddlesticks Singed Morgana Kayle , and amusingly even Galio were played in the semifinals or finals of worlds. That's just a 12 game sample with four teams in it.

Lots of stuff without gap closers is viable even at the highest level of play.

Non-mobility champions that aren't APC with monster dragon winning ultimates haven't been relevant in a long time.

  • No mobility
  • Not APC
  • Weak teamfighting ultimate

I think that's all of them. Most of these do suck. Some of these are relevant. More to the point, it's a really narrow slice of the champion pool. At this point we're only one more condition away from "my favorite champion isn't viable", which is often true but rarely useful for discussing League design as a whole.

The problem isn't with bottom lane. It's with top lane.

Anyone with gap close and cc destroys kalista. Her early game mobility isnt that high, infact her slow aa animation and shorter hop distances makesnher pretty easy the kill. Just a fee examples of match ups thay'll destroy her is: Renekton , jax, aatrox akali jayce j4 irelia and i could probably go on.

I don't see Kallista as being much different than Vayne. Melee players complained endlessly when she was released too.

I think she's a dedicated anti-melee carry that struggles against ranged opponents. That said, it's not all melee champions (Zed absolutely murders her, for example), and she has enough weaknesses to exploit that I think she'll eventually be a healthy addition to the game.

I was watching her spotlight and I just laughed. She bounces around like a spastic frog. Her mobility is insane. And then there's also the fact that she makes he lanemate more mobile too. I mean wtf is this? Her and Leona is going to be a nightmare. Of course there's also the fact that she can troll her teammates in annoying little ways with her ult. They put no thought into the impact this champion is going to have on the game as far as I can tell.

Oh God, Doctor Terrible will rise again, harder and stronger...

Seriously, though, I'm tired of almost every champ being mobile as hell. It's boring if almost every new champ is mobile, and it almost no reason to play non-mobile old champs.

I agree, but Vel'Koz is most definitely NOT mobile and he is pretty new.

He's pretty much the only exception that I can think of. Every other champ they're released recently has some sort of mobility in their kit.

CertainlyT ladies and gentlemen.

"But his designs are fun!" yes they are, Kalista is pretty fun but because she's overpowered right now.

Idk how CertainlyT is still allowed to design but w.e

Also she's not a top laner, she doesn't work up there.
