I enjoy support, imo this role has the most diverse and interesting champion pool... However, adc, and botlane in general aren't in the best of spots right now. Also half the adc's I play with are potatoes. Can I carry my adc from the support role? If any support mains reply, why should I bother learning support and not a better off role? thanks!

Well, I feel until the meta changes enough that a support role is not necessary, .. learning support is absolutely worth while.
I think the support role is actually quite vital for the success of the bottom lane right now, although you will probably never be able to prove it to anyone how critical you were.
Honestly, that is the most unfortunate part of playing support, no glory.
You are important because you are the ADCs best chance of securing kills and surviving ganks.
So my answer is yes, but understand that you will most likely not bask in the glorious light shown on your ADC if they are successful, but you will no doubt get the spotlight if they do poorly.

I used to main support until I got no regognition and people before the game would be like :do you have sona :no :do you have blitz :no :do you haaaaave :I have mastery level 7 and a 90% with rate with soraka :but do you haaaaaaaave thresh :i main soraka dude : im dodging Like wtf is this bulshit unless you play certain supports people are going to think shit of you and flame you the whole game :fucking usless support let me die even though i went into tower with 30 hp :wait wtf how is that my fault Rest of the team: Lets report her :wait wtf how is this my fault :your the support... so everything is your fault, even if top dies you didn't ult to save him its your fault
Supports are, in my opinion, the true carry in a way, as they carry the ADC... And the team later in the game.
I have more fun here than with any other role. Sometimes my adc and I don't really have a synergy in play styles, and I usually lose those games really hard. I'm kind of stubborn though; If you can learn to identify and adapt to the different players' styles, you can carry bot lane in any game.
It takes not only game knowledge, but a keen sense to your teammates. :)
Successfully peeling off the 5 man ganks bot is a rewarding experience that I sometimes get to have as a janna main.
