Malzahar: Simple Question

I just really want to know.... why does he have a free "Banshee Veil" for a passive? Why of all the things you could give him, it was this. Yes Noct has something similar, but his is an activated ability. This, this is painful to watch, when he surprise Suppresses an enemy with his ultimate, but since that CC-Block passive is up, you need 2 CCs to stop him, outside of just bursting him to death.

This isn't a rant, I know there isn't gonna be some magical "POOF, ITS GONE" moment, but I'd love to know the design choice. Did they need an AP equivalent to Yasuo's silly passive somewhere in the game?

They needed something to keep new players on Malzahar when they reworked him.

A seat-belt so to speak.

Originally he was a high risk high reward champion whos life depended on being able to position well and good judgement for when to use what abilities due to the longer cooldowns.

He is now a spam bot with a free oopsie built in to make him feel good for newbies.

As far as the shield goes, if he is in range to ult your ass, then you better auto him back.

If you can't, then you probably deserve it for walking in blind.
