Question about the new ranked system

So I've been reading some things about having parties in ranked (such as a 5 man party). Wouldn't this pretty much turn ranked into ranked teams? Isn't this the point of ranked teams to have 5 people in this competitive sense? I feel like I'll try to solo Q or maybe duo with a friend and get matched against a 5 man team all in skype with insane chemistry and that really, to me at least, throws off ranked. It turns it into a who has the best team kinda idea. I may be missing something, but this is what it seems like to me.
