Joke of a report system

See, I'm not normally one to report people, just not me, but today i changed that. This darius in ranked that i played with asked me to swap my jungle spot with him for top, i said no because i don't really like top that much, and he put top in his choices. He spent the rest of champ select flaming me and the others because i wouldn't swap. Then went into game telling the other team we were all toxic (we were just telling him to play top, nothing really bad) and here's where the fun started. He ran down his lane multiple times and intentionally fed illaoi, he even said "just kill me" before doing it a few of them. After going 0/8 he started spamming emotes in fountain, then as they were on our nexus at 17 minutes he came out and legit started playing, getting 2 kills and 4 more deaths. 7 people in the game reported him (thats how many said in post game they did) including me who wrote a legitimate paragraph about this guy. Know what happened? No message saying he was banned, and no punishment for the guy who spent all his time flaming us and intentionally feeding in ranked so he could get out of the game instead of dodging. How some people get banned, but no this guy, is absolutely beyond me.

You only get the message if your report is the last one before he gets banned. He'll get punished if he keeps the behavior up, just keep reporting the idiots.

Not true I have ended up with the same troll days weeks and months later no break in their play no chat bans so it's rare when trolls get ban it's common when verbal gets ban

How do you know he didn't get any chat bans? There's no way to know that except if you ask him and he would probably just lie about it since he's a troll and he's looking to piss you off.

I've seen plenty of people I've reported get banned days or weeks later. Brings a smile to my face.

I've seen plenty of people I've reported get banned days or weeks later. Brings a smile to my faces less you end up in multiple games with them and see them typing in all chat, also how does a chat ban punish a troll ?

Point still stands. There's no way you could have known that a given toxic person had not been punished unless it results in a 14 day or permanent ban. Everyone gets the same strike system: 2 chat restrictions, then a 14 day ban, then a permanent ban. Just because a chat restriction isn't very helpful with a troll doesn't mean that Riot is going to skip that punishment stage.

Never immediately queue back up again after you play a game with a troll/afker/rager. If you queue up immediately there is a chance that they also queued up immediately and you will get paired up with them again because you're already at comparable MMRs. And if you do get paired up with one of those people again just dodge. Even if its a ranked game losing 3 LP is better than wasting 20 minutes and losing 15-25 LP. I have NEVER gotten the same troll twice in a game because I always take around a 3 minute break between games. And if I get paired up with a troll in champ select I take screenshots of the champion select screen and I let the person know that I've taken screenshots of the chat and that if they troll I'm going to submit a support ticket with the screenshots. If that doesn't get the person to change their tune I just dodge the game and submit the support ticket anyway. Yeah it wastes 5 minutes of my time but I don't let that troll ruin 20+ minutes of my time.

You need to outsmart the trolls or they will just keep trolling you.

It was one game. If he hasn't done it in the past, and doesn't do it again - he won't be punished.

You don't always get a notification that someone you reported was banned. You only get that message if your report was the last one before that person gets punished.
