Advice for an Ashe player?

Just some things that could help me get better with her.

Well, as an Ashe player, you may have noticed that she has more cc than damage, so you may want to have more of a poke/farm related laning phase rather than a kill based lane. I just say this because most of the ashe players I get in soloqueue don't understand the concept of a poke or farm lane and they think that they need to be killing people constantly. Ashe is one of those champs that doesn't lane quite so well if she can't be kept alive. Late game, she can be pretty dangerous, but until she gets her items, it can be a little slow going...

I personally don't know how you play or what is causing you to lose games, so I can't give too much targeted advice... Although you better get really good with your ult; it can make or break an Ashe player.

Work on your positioning and know how to react to mobile champs (usually gtfo). Ashe's biggest weakness is the fact she has no escape, so she's a real gamble unless you are confident you can dodge reliably and keep the distance.

Try to pair her with great peel supports like Janna or Nami.

As DeloricVI said, focus on farming and poking and only go for a kill if they're super low. Ashe cannot afford to be aggresive with her lack of mobility.

On that note, practice freezing a lane. Pun aside, if you can keep your farm up while specifically not pushing your lane you can do quite well. Because if your jungler comes to gank not only are they in a great spot but you can complement the gank worth your very high utility. Not to mention her E gold passive makes passive farming a bit more forgiving.

  1. try to only last hit minions so you can gain stacks of your passive while farming then use the crit for harass.
  2. use volley to discourage the enemy champions with an AA - Volley - AA (try to practice using the volley to interrupt your AA animation) when they move up to harass you or farm
  3. you shouldn't really use your ult for global snipes. Its best used in lane to layer cc on the enemy champ. you can use it first and then have your support engage while you stay at a safer distance and do the damages.
  4. your ult is also great for teamfights - if your team can follow up, its almost always a guaranteed kill on whoever it hits.
  5. your q doesn't do damage. use it for kiting/chasing but if the enemy isn't moving, it doesn't do anything. remember not to use it on minions/structures/monsters.
  6. use your e whenever its up, it has no cost. you can use it to scout the direction you're moving in the jungle, when your support moves to ward, you can check the area first to make sure there is no ambush waiting. while in lane fire it towards the enemy jungler's red/blue buff or gromp/krugs and can use it to check dragon.

do you have any specific questions or were you just looking for these kinds of tips?

Don't be afraid to throw your ultimate out whenever you see a good opportunity. It really is a game winning ability late game--if you hit their squishy carry when he pops out in front for a little bit you can win the fight entirely off that.

I would also suggest AVOIDING trying to use your ultimate for contributing to fights across the map from you--very often you will regret doing so a bit later when you need it for a fight you are directly involved in, or see an even better opportunity. Sometimes, if the fight is going to determine the outcome of the game and you messed up and are too far away, go ahead and throw it in, but usually try to hold back until you know you have a good chance of hitting it.

Your arrow is your only safety. It is on a decently low cooldown, but it's not Ezreal's ult, don't throw it out wildly. With all your cooldowns up, you can 1v1 a Xin Zhao easily and sometimes a Vi or Lee Sin depending on how tanky they are. (I don't recommend doing so on purpose, it's still freaking dangerous, just be aware that hope is not lost just because they gap-closed onto you.) If possible, flash away before using a defensive arrow - the stun is longer with distance. Otherwise, save your arrows for when they -really- make a difference. Enemy ADC/APC in reach of your frontline for example. A stunned jungler can't smite-steal (or just can't smite letting your jungler get the steal). Whenever you're tempted to throw out an arrow for a low chance snipe kill or as a cross-map assist to a skirmish - just calculate if you can play super-safe for the cooldown duration. (Hint - if you're following your jungler and support through the enemy jungle looking for picks and stealing buffs, you're not going to be super-safe for the next 60+ seconds.)

Use. Your. E. Enemy laners suddenly playing passive? Suddenly playing aggressive? Get vision on nearby unwarded bushes, there may be a jungler there. Going to join team at dragon? Use E and don't get bushwhacked by the enemy team waiting to steal it and/or pick of stragglers like you. Get the yellow trinket upgrade - you don't need blue, you have E. Use E to scout before placing those trinket wards. Before you have the upgrade and need to worry about placing your own wards, or if your yellow trinket is on cooldown, then use your E to scout when your support goes to ward. Losing your support to a jungler in the bush is never a good thing.

Q and W are both valid to max first (stronger slow or more volleys is the trade you are making). Be aware that if you max W first, you need to restrain yourself - if you volley on cooldown you'll run out of mana really fast. Even if maxing W first I still usually bring Q up a point or two before I finish maxing W ... you won't be spamming W as fast as possible until you start grouping for big teamfights and the stronger slow is nice. Sometimes I max Q first (especially if I'm getting a lot of friendly ganks. I'd rather have the stronger slow and 6 assists than the stronger volley and 1 kill. Obviously the equation is different if it's just you and a low-damage support, then you need that volley off cooldown sooner to get that last bit of damage as they run under their tower.)

Ashe is a very powerful ADC, however she does require strong map awareness and positioning, and she's generally weak at 1v1 if she doesn't have or misses her arrow. Kiting is extremely important, of course, get your furor boot enchantment to help with this. Some champions are unkiteable though... ban yi and yasuo if at all possible, they will shut you down hard. If you have to play against them, never let them catch you alone and save your arrow for them (although arrowing Yasuo is tricky. Don't try it unless his windwall is on cooldown.) Learn to stutter-step/animation-cancel/orb-walk (three terms referring to the same thing, namely starting to move before your attack animation completes. Plenty of how-tos on youtube, watch some.)

Don't believe people the people that look down on Ashe. She's not weak at all. She just relies on solid positioning and teamwork rather than flashy skill combos.

Pick an actually useful adc for ur team.

That's the thing about Ashe. Her kit has a lot of utility so she actually IS useful for the team, just that she does no damage.

Problem is she has no utility at all. 2 kinds of slows and a long cd hit-or-miss stun for a single person in 2015 doesn cut it. Her slows are meaningless in this day of dashes and blinks and her ult has 2 long cd to make a meaningful impact. Hell even Draven has better utlity with his little knockup darn sake.

Actually Jinx is what Ashe should be in all honestly. Jinx combines the utility and raw dps at the cost of her own safety (more or less). % execution global threat? And in AOE? Root? Huge range slow/nuke? And don't even start on her Q steroid.

Ashe as of now still suffers frmo her stupid borderline useless passive and having 0 dps until she packs like 4 items.

Why even leave comments like this.

If I want to play Ashe then I'll play her.

I love how you just assume that that'll happen.

I'm only in Bronze at the moment (silver last season), but disclaimers aside, here are my tips.

Try to use your passive on an enemy champion when you first get to lane, rather than a minion. This hurts particularly bad at level 1 if you have a Sona who has charged up her Power Chord Q and hits you with her aura. It is also quite strong if you are playing Ashe support for a Kalista who takes a point in W first.

Cooldown boots, Brutalizer and scaling CDR blues are all you need for 40% cooldown, which is pretty strong on Ashe.

I think grouping with your team early is a good idea, because her teamfight is better than her laning.
