Why is minion collision a thing in this game?

From my experience, it serves only to be annoying and cause confusing glitchy interactions. It doesn't benefit or enrich gameplay in any way. The only time i notice it is when im either walking right next to a minion and both character models start spazzing out, or when I try to dodge a skillshot and the autopathing makes it impossible to stand in the minion wave without getting screwed around with by the unit collision. Its only claim to legitimacy is certain champions and item passives that ignore it, which is a stupid excuse to have.

Another thing is that minions can block me and fuck me up, but I cannot block minions. I understand why this is, since it would be OP to be able to block your own minions from coming to lane. I think the way they just slide past you is a good idea for the game, but it would be better and far less frustrating to play if champions and minions could just slide past each other.

Fun being a melee champ against a ranged one, getting a good trade then taking 93992 damage from minions because your champ straight up gets stuck in them and because pathing can be "special" sometimes.

Its a misconception that you cant body block waves in league. With most champions you can load a wave into a clump or chump with nothing more then body blocking the first or second minion in a wave. Others can use ability's ontop of this and start with a wave at their tower like Antivia. The reason old wc3 dota players like myself blocked starting waves was because jungle and vision mattered a bit less then what it means in league. Jungle is such a vital role that a good leash and vision is a better start then putting your self at minor lane position advantage. Also there is fog of war interactions with terrain heights so lane position meant more for dota allstars as it directly affected player vision.

Now heres my viewpoint on minion blocking, its currently annoying but a healthy part of game mechanics. To many Skillshots are balanced around hitting minions. Removing the threat you take of casters blocking you if your smack in the center a wave means that it becomes a much safer play.
