The "Locked in: Zoe" episode looked amazing in spite of having zoe on the screen the whole time. The teal orange sunset colors and the dramatic shadows looked absolutely stunning. PLEASE RIOT add an option to run the game like this all the time. NO It will NOT inflate the performance requirements of the game itself, since clearly its just effects added on top, so if your PC can't run it, you can keep the game looking the way it normally is.

At the moment summoners rift looks very muted and dull like it is always twilight, since nothing actually casts real shadows. The rift would look so good with some decent shadow rendering and atmospherics and direct sunlight.

I know the game is currently designed with graphics that can be run on most machines, and I am sympathetic to that, which is why I want to state one more time that including my suggestion in the game will NOT affect you if you don't turn it on. We aren't rebuilding league in Frostbite engine here...

Also I am well aware that riot notably did not go the DOTA 2 route, instead making the aesthetics of the game softer and more "cartoony" instead of aiming for photorealism. (just look at the water in Dota 2). What I suggest won't change any of that.

Summoners rift is designed as if the artists were trying to make it look like it was in a dense forest, however it is visually incongruous because the trees are very small and far between, and the rest of the terrain isn't actually that high. Additionally, the rift is on top of a huge mountain! Just look off the edge of the map. The deep sunset and ethereal atmosphere are far more fitting for the rift.
