Isn't Sated Yi supposed to double strike every other auto?

Cause he doesn't appear to. According to the wiki, double strike is an on hit effect. The second strike of double strike also applies on hit effects. This is why even though Yi's passive is technically a 4-hit passive, it is effectively a 3-hit passive after one rotation because the second strike of the double strike counts towards the next double strike. Sated devourer converts any n-hit passive into a floor(n/2)+1-hit passive. So all 3-hit passives become 2-hit passives. Yi's passive is a 3-hit passive after the first rotation, so after the first rotation (which should only take 3 autos instead of 4 once sated) it should become a 2 hit passive. So it should be AA-double-AA-double-AA-double and so on. I have seen PBE videos of this. Yet when I play sated Yi now, this does not happen. So is this a bug or a stealth nerf or?

Iirc, this was nerfed after being tested on the PBE, and rightfully so, think about it, that would mean that he would Auto > Auto + Sated + Double strikes extra effect would hit, which counts towards the next sated > Auto + Sated + Double strikes effect and so on, all of this while hitting the true damage on e and lowering his q cd.

See why that would be nerfed? Truthfully even if I'm wrong and it still takes an auto in between those attacks to get the second double, etc., that's still far too powerful.

stacked and yi passive stacks on attakc not on hit why they don't stack each other

It's an on-hit effect. On hit-effect has a rigorous definition in this game.

Nope, it is very specifically an on-attack effect, which is functionally the same as an on-hit except it doesn't interact with things like Exreal Q, Warwick ult, or Sated's Phantom hit.

look it up.

EDIT: It's near the bottom of this page on the wiki: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/On-hit_effect

It should be:

AA --> sated(AA) --> DAA1 --> sated(DAA2) --> AA --> sated(DAA1) --> DAA2 --> sated(AA) --> DAA1 --> sated(DAA2) ...

It just alternates on the first or second strike of the double strike being sated which makes no difference.

If they seriously did an item/champion pair specific nerf, that's just cheesy. They might as well just do specific tweeks to runeglaive/ezreal. Just bad game design.

I think I read something either on the forums, newsoflegends or surrender@20 about it, pretty confident that it was nerfed because it was too potent. Meanwhile Shyv is around, who is a nightmare to try to counterjungle, frequently counterjungles herself, is known for a speed clear and Sated Devourer stacks with every part of her kit with the exception of her passive. I'm not complaining, she's loads of fun to play, but I do expect nerfs in the near future as it's just a bit much.

They did. They removed the spell procs so Luden's and other spell effects weren't activated by Runeglaive and have some possible Ez nerfs in the future (they hit the PBE but were removed for now)

I believe he meant a literal nerf to how an item and a champion interact, which apparently they did not as the reading in double strike is as mentioned above.

nope, because double strike as correctly coded as an on-attack effect and still takes 4 attacks to proc. It can apply phantom hit though, so a single double strike attack can deal 150% AD (can crit) +300% on-hit damage.

Okay yeah you're right. I was mislead because the wiki says "Double Strike is an on-hit effect." I guess what they mean is that an actual occurence of a double strike is an on-hit effect, not the passive itself, which is conveniently named "Double-strike" instead of something like "Wuju-fu".

Still weird that this was occuring every other auto on the PBE.

Thanks for clarifying this, been curious as to some of these interactions. To further clarify, because I feel like it does (been playing her a lot lately) This does proc off of shyvs q right? It reads that she attacks twice.

I don't have Shyvana but from what I read on the wiki since her Q is an AA reset, sated shyv performing an AA Q AA combo should apply 6 on-hit effects in roughly the time of two AAs which is a lot of burst.

I've been playing her a lot lately, feels that way but it's hard to gauge since at that point she just blows everything up. (Also would that apply the on hit to her burnout and breath 6 times? Honestly feels like it.)

His double strike from his passive doesn't go towards the counter. So while he will be getting it one attack sooner, he won't be hitting 4 times every AA (his Q will go off cooldown a lot sooner though)

Also, from the looks of it, unless I'm miscounting something, he won't actually get double strike in time with the phantom hit from devourer. He AA, passive point, AA again, passive point, procs phantom hit, another passive point, and then he gets Double strike, but it doesn't proc phantom hit (which is every other AA)
