As for the afk thing. This is a mild treatment for a symptom, not a solution to a problem.

The afk problem is an infected wound, it is festering and rotten, and maggots have started living on it. Now, in this situation, you can do two things:
You can put a band-aid on it, at least then no one has to look at it.
You can go to the doctor and get it checked it out.

Sorry, but I never had a game that was decided after 10, excuse me, 8 minutes and 30 seconds (let's be honest, in 99% of the times nothing happens before minions getting on lane). Yeah, sometimes games are decided after 15, 20 minutes, but not at 10 minutes. What next, surrendering just as you spawn at fountain, because someone trolled/picked 2nd adc because he didn't want to support etc.?

JRobin311 votesI think that afks are a different issue than early surrenders to be honest and if RIOT did implement early surrenders than many low ELO games would be decided by who surrenders first (not that uncommon to get an afk both sides). I can't really get behind complicated surrender vote systems just because you get into some really murky reasoning for the existence of surrender votes. What I can get behind 100% is my desire to have an option that disables surrender votes from appearing on my HUD.
