Detailed Feedback: How to improve the game
Hello everyone, I would love to get some actual meaningful conversations going on how to improve the game and the overall experience. Everyone has their own opinions on what to do and what not to do, and the following suggestions are ideas I think could benefit the community.
- Rework the FF Vote System
- Rework the Report Feedback System
- Create a re-worked tribunal
#1. Re-work the FF vote system
Whether you are pro-surrender or anti-surrender, most people would agree that the current system is unfair because it allows 2 people to hold 3 people hostage in a game. I suggest a double-standard approach to the FF vote, that Ranked should be for those who have the never-surrender no matter what mentality and that normals should be for those who are willing to surrender when the game becomes unplayable. I would suggest that Ranked either have the FF vote removed entirely, or stay as it is needing 4/5 vote. My suggested changes are for normal games only, NOT Ranked.
First off The Surrender vote should be based on a simple majority, regardless of how many people vote (see next part). Second, people who do not vote will no longer have their votes counted as "No", their votes will not count toward the total. Therefore if 2 people vote "Yes" and 1 person votes "No", and 2 people do not vote then the vote passes 2/1 in favor of the surrender.
Additionally I believe that if a person votes "Yes" in 3 consecutive surrender votes and all 3 votes fail, that player should be given the option to leave the match and be able to start a new match. That player will not receive exp, mastery, or event tokens. Furthermore that player may NOT be punished for leaving the game, however if they afk before leaving game they CAN be punished for afking before their allotted 3 times are up.
Remember, Normals games are NOT Ranked.
Also keep in mind, when 1 person out of 5 wants to surrender your team is already at 4/5, a player who wants to ff will NEVER be a full team mate.
#2. Riot should make a tab in our collections (private to each user) that shows an updated count of all reports that player received that season and what they were for, and in what games. If a player can go in and see at any time how often they are being reported and can see the trends for them-self they are more likely to learn a lesson and reform than if they get hit with a ban/chat restriction out of nowhere thinking that they do not deserve the ban because they had no prior warning.
Maybe Riot could make an Honor tab that also shows your honors and allows you to see ratios of honors to reports.
#3. Re-Work the old tribunal.
Player's get upset with Riot because of lack of feedback, and because they believe their reports wont get looked at anyway. By allowing player's to help Riot expedite particularly bad cases of toxicity and see punishments happen will show the community that Riot does listen and does care.
The system should closely resemble the old system, where you vote guilty or not guilty after seeing the full game stats and everyone's chat logs; the difference would be how you interact with Riot. Instead of just voting Guilty or Not Guilty now you fill in a brief survey/form that will condense the information for Riot employee's to read through. They can comb through numerous of these surveys at a time and read valuable and condenses feedback to assist in their decisions.
Each Survey would be directly attached to the case file number it is assigned in the tribunal system and would show:
Case File # Summoner Name (invisible to playerbase) Summoner name who submitted Tribunal Report Summoner Tribunal Level (Discussed further down) Vote: Guilty or Innocent Punishment level: Light, Medium, Heavy Brief summary of why the summoner recommended the way they did based on all the evidence they saw written in 3-4 sentences.
The Rioter's reading the reports will read through at least 10 of these surveys before making a decision, though they can read as many as they want. The Rioters can Thumbs Up or Thumbs down each individual survey sent to them. When you get a thumbs up you get special Tribunal points that help you get a higher Tribunal level. This level is a symbol of how helpful you have been in helping Riot punish toxic people and forgive falsely accused non-toxic players. Getting a thumbs down will take away points from you, and you can drop Tribunal levels. Everyone starts at level 0 with 3 free strikes and can go up from there. Getting a thumbs down reduces your points, if you are at level 0 with no points a thumbs down uses 1 of your 3 strikes. At 3 strikes you hit level -1 and are no longer allowed to participate on the tribunal.
If a player ever hits level -1 then they are banned from using the tribunal system because they have shown repeatedly that they cannot be of any use to Riot's player behavior/enforcement team.
You gain points by:
- Writing a brief but informative summary of your work that is written with evidence and facts, and not based on emotion or sourness.
Ex: (Write responses like this) I voted to Punish Lightly on this summoner because in 1 game they were reported by their entire team for a comment they made about Obama that was mis-interpreted by their team. In the 2nd game they were reported by 2 players for cursing, but they cursed once and it was not directed at any particular player. In game 3 They were reported for intentional feeding, despite the fact they had only 1 death.
Ex: (Avoid writing responses like this) I voted to punish heavily because this guy was a jerk and I hate players like this. I would hate to play with this guy and he is trash and needs to be banned.
The higher the level you are the more priority your surveys get in being seen first because you have shown you know how to be factual and to the point making your opinions more valuable.
If Riot wants to add in some kind of special icons or rewards for participating they can, HOWEVER just being able to be a part of the system and being able to see the results should be rewarding enough.
Riot could set parameters such as:
- Must have played game for x many years to be eligible
- Must be at least honor level x to be eligible
- After applying must secure x many honors from non-premades to be accepted
- etc.
These are 3 ideas of mine that I would love to see implemented. If you have good ideas please share them below. If you have any comments/questions then get the conversation started and leave a comment. All I ask is that you read and understand what I have to say before you comment below.
