I miss the average longer game times

LoL had a lot of great qualities that seem to have vanished. Yes I understand, long games can lead to very frustrating loses, but on the flip it also has its positives. League had a lot of layers and unique power spikes not found in many other games where they're were actually champions who were played to soley for the purpose of their presence in certain time frames. Now that most game fall under 25min the complexity seems to have been lost and I feel like I'm playing a new version of HotS mixed with league. I understand its preseason and nothing is official but I would really like to see the game times lengthen to at least 30-40min average. League has casual elements but its not by any means a casual gamers game. Dota has always been considered more hardcore, but it was nice to ahve an alternatie that wasn't so serious, with different visual elements (which is one of LoL's gems (I think they have some of the best charater art in all video games) Now iI'm I find myself playing more HotS than league (but really dont play either that much).

Anyone else really really hoping they up the game lengths? Maybe just tune down the mastery pages a little? or have them activate at certain lvls or time periods in game?

I agree with you. I hope they up the game length and the complexity.

Feels like it started with the introduction of item 3742, plus the Juggernaut + Fiora patches brought in a play-style of champs who just run at you and 1v5 you.

Now with death timers higher and turrets feeling weaker it seems 1 pick, which isn't even a vision pick, just a champ with 60 bonus move speed running up to someone and blowing things up, turns into a bunch of turrets taken and a wild gold swing.

So many champions are so much more powerful and useful than the rest of the champs in their roles that it feels like if you don't play the current crudely defined meta you get run over by a Yasuo, Graves or Cait who gets more healing than Vlad once she has an item or two.

The ADC patch was a little overboard. Initially, over the first 20 games I played on this patch my average game time was 6 minutes less than in my previous 20 games from last patch. Now I've had the opportunity to play some longer games, and it feels like whoever has picked the more broken champions or has the more overtuned adc just auto-wins late. The more I play this the less fulfilling and enjoyable I find it.

I have been playing lots of 15-20 minuet games erring more toward the lower end unless I play a custom game myself then the games get past 30 minuets.

Most of my games have been staying at around the 30+ minute mark. tbh I dont think games should go much more then 50min before they just get long winded and boring. Having a game go on for a hour can be exciting sometimes but sometimes you just dont have the time for an hour long games. So i mean I kinda like it now because for me they are staying just long enough for the fn to still be in the game but arent one sided club fests.

you guys are the ones who begged riot to make games shorter( i mean the board community). now you have it. so next time when you guys want to ask riot something, first of all think about it, or maybe riot should not listen to you and do whatever they want.maybe

The short games are really turning me off to League. I think it was partly a business decision as they saw that HotS was faster and more bite-sized, and instead of deciding to be who they are, they decided to have plastic surgery to be more like that other guy.

The long games and the complexity were what I liked about League.

Let alone being able to get to full build in a game, most games on lower ELOs are decided at the 5-10 minute mark. I've personally taken inhibitors at 7 minutes.

Riot is notorious for saying "We do not revert changes" in the same way that most countries say "We do not negotiate with terrorists", but they've been on a real downwards spiral recently and I'm not sure why. It started around the time they completely trashed Darius' synergistic kit for the monstrosity that's in the game today (and the other juggernauts), and it's been getting worse since then. Pre-juggernaut S5 was about as balanced as I think the game has ever been, and more importantly, it was FUN.

How many of you are actually having FUN with League anymore?

That's what these new changes are ruining for me the most.

Most games last 35-40 min that I have played. Idk must be your comps

None of my normal games have been short thus far. What's everyone talking about?

If you think you're better than the people you're playing with, you want games to be shorter, not longer. The influence that the worst players in each game only grows larger and larger as time goes by and you're increasingly forced to rely on them.

Actually the average game length is like 34 minutes I believe and the number very very slowly rises as pre season wages on, and this is directly from Meddler? I think.

And encouraging the game gets a kick in the pants means LCS stops being a snore fest and farming most of the game becomes discouraged, which means less devour junglers.

By no means are shorter games really ruining anything, just adapt to the change like everyone will inevitably do.
