Deathfire Grasp [reworked]

We miss you dfg! :'( But we know you can't come back in your previous form.

So here's a suggestion for a rework.

Btw I don't mind if this idea doesn't get supporters. Would be cool though if dfg was brought back reworked in some way.

#(This is just an) Idea:

+100 AP +10% cdr Active: cast a deadly bolt at a target direction. First enemy hit will be debuffed for 4 seconds and you will recieve 35% magic penetration towards the debuffed target. If the target has less than 15% of its maximum health left when the defbuff expires, it will simply die. (60 sec cd)

##misc info:

  • Active is a skillshot and can hit minions
  • Debuff can be cleansed and the death effect will be nullified
  • Spellshields can block the skillshot and the death effect
  • Death effect can be negated with invulnerability granting spells and items
  • Shields count as health towards the death effect

Example: A target with 6000 health would need to be at 900 health to die when the debuff ends. A target with 2000 health would need to be at 300 health to die when the debuff ends.

I think debuffing someone for 35% mr is a bit excessive as this will leave them vulnerable to all of your team's magic damage. tank would get get shredded/melted instantly. say you also have rumble top that has liandries. and your dfg the enemy tank. if he stands in the equalizer, good bye.

i would like to have an item that givesa debuff but only to you. aka gives you magic pen but only to that target. right now all we have are magic pen buffs to you or magic resist debuffs to you and all your team mates. why cant we have a way to buff your magic pen to only one target. essentially a void staff to you but only against one select enemy champion.

I like the idea of the debuff when they are low however. maybe bring that up to like 35%.

Yeah I kinda had plans to change it to only give the caster 35% magic penetration for that target. But first I wanted to know what people say about it :P I'll edit the post :)

You mean that the target would die if they have less than 35% of their max health?

ooops i miss read that. i read that the debuff would expire. ya that much damage to a tank is a bit rough especially when tanks are meant to cling onto life with little hp. hence the mastery for tanks when below 20% health.

tanks are great at surviving with little hp this would take out their ability to survive when low. would essentially render volibears passive useless.

i saw it more like, if the debuff ends, at least tanks will have a fighting chance to survive when low.

Nope. They are dead. But only if they get hit by the skillshot and don't use cleanse or other countermeasures :P

Wait so if I'm reading this right you're saying if the enemy has less than 20% health when the mark expires they are automatically killed? Zed There can only be one deathmark!

But seriously, this thing would tear a hole in the very fabric of space and time it's so broken if this is the case.

Well it has a list of counters. Healing, shielding, cleanses, invulnerabilities, spellshields and dodging.

And Zed's ult is targeted :P

Zed would buy Deathfire Grasp simply for the active.

I think he would lose too much ad and armor penetration. But who ever knows what would happen...

Nah, I think if he built everything else, he'd have enough damage to bring them to at least 40% or so, Death Mark would bring them to 20% or less, and then the debuff would kill them.

And Zhonya's would still counter them all :P Or cleanse.
