The Anti Mage-Support Support

So I've been putting a lot of thought into this because 1) I play support mostly, and 2) I like to live.

...and I was thinking of what qualities in a champ are ideal for an anti mage-support champ that can still support their ADC at the same time and not divert energy/attention. Having a Silence is obviously very strong as you can shut down any of their spells and let them squish, so that's where I started.

Now this isn't a new idea... but my answer? Chogath

  • potential to silence _both _ enemy champs at once
  • popup ftw (again multiple targets)
  • his E (vorpal spikes) + item 3116 = eternal slow (again...multiple targets)
  • his passive (carnivore) + item 2303 = good lane sustain

Plus the ungodly tanky af snowball we all know and love to hate

Now usually I'll rune out MR & AR, then build health, and that works with champs like Leona who have built in defenses. But might have to turn that around with Chogath and go health runes and start items like item 3024 and item 3211

so... thoughts? comments? rude remarks? Thanks for any input!

I don't mind if you want to play Cho as a support, as long as you aren't suggesting his inevitable VGU be tailored toward making him one.

More to the point, nah, mage supports are harass mages, who Cho performs poorly against in lane. He needs to last-hit minions for his sustain, which he won't be able to do often due to being a support, meaning a mage support will poke him down and force him out or kill him. His W is also too short range to make him a lane threat against Zyra or Brand.

rude remarks?

You're probably one of those people that leave the toilet seat up.

The anti magic king himself except no substitutes Galio is the Sup[port you are looking for!

Nice plan. How you imagine going through level 1 though? I would win lane level 1 against any cho support any day.

Just go Fiddle. Crow people for free silence and poke, fear gets rid of those annoying ganks or at least makes the enemy ADC useless for a bit. Plus when you are getting low, just pick a high health minion and drain for a bit.

Or if you want an actually anti mage support, Galio was basically designed to be a mid lane anti mage, so taking him support isn't that far-fetched.

Thanks for all the feedback/ideas. Been doing some play testing with both Fiddle and Cho and find that fiddle is better earlier but cho did better later game. Fiddle def has better utility for early game which is good for support. Galio is a good idea but I kinda lost interest in him since the rehaul.

Onwards and upwards!

his poke costs too much mana and isnt reliable. You need to cs for his passive sustain

feel like it might actually just be soraka, what with providing a silence and countering poke with a heal
