I don't know so much about shields, but yeah assassins are pretty weak this patch, give yourself credit for noticing it

First of all, assassins are meant to have enough damage to kill the adc, and so the supports either peel for them or heal and shield the adc. What's the problem with that? It's like complaining about blitzcrank having a hook that is extremely dangerous when it's the only thing that makes him strong compared to other champions
Secondly, assassins aren't meant to carry a game when they aren't fed. If you think a janna shield is annoying, try killing an adc with a sejuani and a braum peeling for them AND the adc kiting backwards
