when going into game, its sooo bland to see the other team with a no boarder..

I understand it can probably tilt whoever they may be going against. but your in that elo. that boarder doesnt matter this season. can you please bring both sides to see the boarders of both sides? ty.

I mean, I don't think the bigger concern is tilting because of the enemy team so much as it is people targeting the lowest ranked on the enemy team for camping.

It's not like this doesn't already happen.... But that's my guess.

All the people spelling "border" wrong... I'm so tilted.

I'm afraid that this will lead to alot of:

"Omg i was SIlver last season and i got matched against some dude who was Challenjour wtf matchmaking?"

Also, it will be kind of discouraging for some people when they see their opponent has a superior border. Or it might make people underestimate their opponents, when they see that their opponent's border is inferior.

This will only mess up the player's confidence. Something, that can potentially be game-changing.

Almighty.

i still don't understand why mastery banners aren't shown. I mean I can easily just go look up who I'm facing in lane and find the information anyway, it's not like Riot is hiding anything.

Borders don't even show current rank, just rank from last season, and that was well... last season so who gives a fuck

I agree it is kind of pointless to hide everything about the enemy when;

  1. I can just look up the player
  2. I would have liked to know that guy is m7 Ori and therefore has some knowledge about the champion

Riot is all about clarity but yet they hide something as stupid as this from their players. I would like to know my enemy was a diamond with M7 on a champion. Most people can just look this information up before the game anyways so it just seems ridiculous to hide.

This.

In case you didnt know, it used to be this way. They changed it because toxic community is toxic.

Their client is so sophisticated now, it wouldn't be hard to implement a toggle in the settings

Fawksea8/1/2017, 10:54:13 AM1 votes

no, it'll make people focus out the people without borders and or play differently knowing the enemy's higher rank, yes people can just search it up, but other people also prefer not to, it's the same reason why you can't see enemies ranks. it's psychological warfare

DrCyanide7/31/2017, 12:05:29 AM1 votes

I don't look up my teammates and enemies before games most of the time because it's not worth worrying about, but I fully agree that they need something.

ModValeeva7/31/2017, 6:15:00 AM1 votes

I got banned last season and lost my border. I mean you watch streamers right and see how many people in high elo even have no borders be it banned too or a new smurf.

It means nothing and you shouldnt need to see it. Now mastery and honor flares I wouldnt mind.

ExcitableOyster7/31/2017, 12:01:00 AM1 votes

A lot of people use Curse which goes to LolNexus. There's also Quickfind. There's gotta be someone in 1 of every 2 matches at least who looks the match up while in loading. And every now and then you get someone who says "Akali is plat be careful." The reasons for not having borders don't apply when people look up the enemy team rankings anyways. I do it and I know a good chunk of the player base does it. Riot should revert it.

the boarder does show for both sides tho

MagikarpIsBoss7/31/2017, 6:52:36 PM1 votes

I would like this. It gets tedious always checking op.gg to know who im vsing.

Weasel Kensei8/1/2017, 2:05:15 AM1 votes

In spirit Im for it, the loading screen is a bit drab... but Im against it. I dont want this to happen.

Lemme splain.

It will decrease the time before the whinning bitches in my match tilt and cry at the team. Even if its just 60 seconds longer before they give up. Maybe in those 60 seconds we can get a double kill and take a tower and extend the time before they tilt so hard they go back in time to when they were an actual baby.

It all hinges on the fact that they cant see that the enemy team has one more border thats of higher rank than our team, just so we can avoid the minute zero "our team is shit GG" crying.

Wait I thought you stopped playing League soon after the Akali rework.

koshkyra7/31/2017, 3:35:41 AM1 votes

This would triple the amount of "OMG IM SILVER BUT GOT MATCHED AGAINST A PLATINUM WTF RITO?!?!?!" QQ threads so no thanks.

Blakiepug7/31/2017, 1:26:42 AM1 votes

I think it's mainly not to tilt players right off the start from the loading screen. Sometimes matchmaking can look a bit strong to players and make them feel like they lost before the game even started. For instance, I played a ranked match the other day where one team was 4 silvers, 1 gold, and the other team was 4 silvers, 1 platinum. I feel like seeing this in the pre-game lobby would only promote the behavior of saying "ff20" as soon as the game starts even more.
