How Riot's proposed Ivern rework will alter his playstyle | Dot Esports

So possibly in Patch [9.17], Ivern is supposedly recieving QoL Changes & Buffs;

1.) Ivern will no longer be able to switch from being a Melee Champion & a Ranged One after entering a Bush. Instead, he will have Ranged Autos only. 2.) Upon entering one of Ivern's Brushes, Allies gain bonus On-hit damage on their Attacks. 3.) Ivern can no longer control Daisy using his [R] Key.

As someone that plays Ivern when I have to play Jungle, I don't know how I feel about these changes (even though they're not guaranteed to ship).

I like the [W: Brushmaker] changes since you can probably partner this up with stuff lile Aery or Ardent's Censor. Despite that though, I feel like the change to his Auto Range might mess up his ability to jump walls with his [Q: Rootcaller]. Also, Ivern might lose his siege potential (and possibly hamper is teamfighting ability) since you can no longer control Daisy.

I don't know, personally I like him where he is right now. Sure not many people play Ivern, but he can be a good pick if you put time into him. Plus if you play the Supporting role but end up having to Jungle for whatever reason, Ivern can be a great champion to pick up for that. What do you guys think about these changes?

I think losing control of daisy is going to break then champion. The list of things you can do with him under your control is vast. And I love holding off auto attacks until you hit a multiple enemy knock up.... or allowing her to slow then hit knock ups. The jumping over wall with q is super important to pathing...and escaping enemy aggression in your jungle. Dont fix areas of a champ that work. The buffs for teammates in bushes are welcome. ( if they realize that it's been buffed.....I still cant get my cait to stand in a Bush in fights. .. they stand right next to it....) I think that if riot is not careful they could lose the few that still play him and love him

i will admit that Ivern currently does not fit the meta and that he does need some changes however i don't think these changes will please the few players that still play him like me for example. as surprising as this may sound. Ivern is the only jungler i can play. i seem to struggle a lot with anyone else. Ivern has always been about being the most supportive jungler and for him to stay that way, he needs to have somewhat a bit of control over battles and losing the control (the biggest problem in those changes IMO) will just make it annoying cuz she's most likely going to attack the enemy. I really hope Riot takes a second look at this rework since a bad move could mean the literal death of Ivern.
