Dominion: The first one to capture top, wins
This is extremely unbalanced. Even if you dive them, with these short respawn timers, they just come back and stop you, while you capture.

I wouldn't say it's a guaranteed win, since holding top is the key to victory. However, the first team to capture top has a distinct advantage, since the other team now has to wrest control while the opponents merely have to defend.
The thing that ticks me off the most is at the start of a match there's always that one goon who stands in spawn trying to decide what items to buy while the rest of the team has to 4v5 for that important initial top point. I don't give a flying Teemo if you buy a needlessly large rod on Darius, just be quick about it.
Sorry, force of habit. I'm used to having a countdown and more time to shop before those gates go down.
I know the feels. Those gate platforms start moving really slow, then suddenly speed up to lock into place and open the gate. Why they did it like that instead of one constant speed is beyond me.
kinda, if you ever manage to retake top you will need to recall in order to recover giving the enemy time to take it back while it is undefended
not who caps first, who caps and keeps it the longest. I've seen enemies do a comeback once they got more fed while at it.
But yeah, the whole "capture top to win" thing is lame.

Something I noticed with the new Dominion. It feels a lot more like playing ARAM, or TT. Not just that their are only 3 capture points, but the whole wave pushing mechanic. Which is why everyone feels like pushing, while leaving the old back dooring strategies something to be desired.
I won't actually debate whether those changes were good or bad. Likely, Riot tried to implement mechanics that were more familiar to the general player base. Which inadvertently alienated the big fans of Dominion itself. That being said, I never actually felt that the main strategies of dominion ever quite fell to the way side. Your not back dooring capture points as much, but you are backdooring the ultra Minion relics. And I find those minions to be well worth the effort, they will help you tremendously, when trying to capture that middle point.

Was I the only one taking advantage of the health relic? many times I was able to sustain off of health relics, defending the capture point, only having to recall in the end after backup arrived. (And when I had a nice pile of gold to spend) Also, defending the capture point in this mode, actually feels like defending a tower. And the capture point does help you with dealing with enemy divers. (Maybe not as much as it does in SR, but it does help.)
I used to play Dominion quite a bit before it was removed as a permanent game mode and can say thats not true at all
Original dominion had two more capture points this one is missing two so yes the top one in THIS dominion can decide the game outcome.
