> The stun and knockup on the ability are applied concurrently and not sequentially; the total CC duration on a target is not actually 2 / 2.5 / 3 seconds but 1 / 1.5 / 2 seconds.

Taken from wiki

why not make that duration for the knockup instead?

think of chogath Q, a knockup, and THEN a slow is applied, while Nautilus' Ult is a knockup, and they're "Stunned" for 1 second, during the knockup, that TAKES one second itself, Basically, you're not stunning anyone at rank 1 in his ult

and i'm comparing a Regular skill to an ultimate

and the people it passes through get knocked up for only 0.5 seconds

can we get some attention on this? is this intended? (i highly think not) you're just adding a 0.5 Stun after the knockup to his ult at rank 2, and a 1 second stun after the knockup on his rank 3

I think they want the CC to be reduced by tenacity but also to have a floor so the ability has a decent stun time even against Irelia.

OR The ability just has a knock-up so that it looks cool.

I know that Zyra's ultimate does a similar thing.

That's probably it. You can fight the cc but Naut will still mess you up, regardless.

Are you asking for Nautilus nerfs? Because that's how you get Nautilus nerfs.

This is how every knockup in the game works, I think.

This is why Riot tells us to still build tenacity against knockup champs - so you can regain control earlier, despite not being able to move.

I believe that the actual knockup duration is always 1 second but the stun scales with rank. So a rank 1 ult knocks up for 1 second and stuns for 1 second concurrently, making it effectively a 1 second knockup. But at rank 3, the ult knocks up for 1 second and stuns for 2 seconds concurrently, so there is an effective 1 second stun after the knockup is finished. I would say it's similar to Alistars abilities, in that they have 2 parts: the knockup and displacement that you can't cleanse and the follow up stun which you can cleanse.

So I'm just going to throw a couple of points around, because I'm not trying to make one in particular.

  • If we wanted to "fix" this, we could make it like Cho Q where the additional CC is applied after the landing. This would be a buff to Naut
  • We could just normalize the stun (meaning the the knock-up makes you airborne in addition to an equivalent duration stun), making it a standard knock-up. If this was done however, then tenacity wouldn't work. This would probably cause Naut to be unchanged.
  • We could remove the knock-up and make it a "suspension". A suspension is the same CC type of Nami's Q (bubble) and Vel'Koz's E (disruption). This CC type LOOKS like a knock-up, but it's actually affected by tenacity and cleanse. It's considered a Knock-up for the sake of Yasuo ult. This would be a nerf to Naut.

So those are the three options for Naut ult. Not sure which I would pick, but there you go.

Tenacity Cleanse

His ultimate is already kinda useless with the CC... It seems really short

That's because he has 3 more CC's in his kit- the displacement from his Q, a constant AoE slow from his E, and a root for his Autos with his passive. He locks down targets for long enough without having to worry about his ult- it's just the guaranteed hit one.
