Ah, Warwick, my main champ since i started playing at the Season 2.

I just want to ask, why he is so low in the rework scope?

Right now, Warwick is the only alpha champ who meets all the following points:

  • Alpha champ, one of the first champs released.
  • Old, outdated model.
  • Extremely boring kit.
  • The exact same splash art since release.
  • Has received zero gameplay/visual updates, outside occasional buffs/nerfs.

Other champs have some of the points, but Warwick is the only one who has all of them.

I know, Zenon was working on Warwick's rework but got iceboxed. But why he is still so low on the rework priority list?

And also, he is never touched. I think Riot said it's because he has a so-binary kit. But if he is actually the oldest champ in terms of visual+gameplay, and they cannot change him because his kit, why not finally rework him on the first place? Why is Riot being so silent about him?

I agree with this. Warwick is still a one trick pony and pretty sure he's going to be worst pick in this snowbally season.

Warwick, like Fiddlesticks, uses up a lot of fantasy real estate. Many people would love to play a visceral werewolf experience; but Warwick's kit is so bland and boring, with terrible visuals, he not only fails to provide that, he prevents any other lycanthrope character from being created.

I've made the topic many times, and I believe it is because they stated they did not have the resources for him. He was iceboxed when they got the champion update team together, but I cannot fathom why he is so very low on the list. Poppy got her rework, soon Taric will, and it has been over a year since they announced his rework. I love the champ, was the first jungler I used, but he is unusable in most games.

I love Warwick hes definitely my favorite champ. I would scream like a little girl if he got some awesome updates. I spammed mystery skins with friends until I finally got my favorite WW skin, Feral. Hopefully he sees some love soon, a man can hope.

There has to be more than garen for new players to start with...so simple warwick remains simple warwick. The visual updates could show up a little sooner though.

Ah, a fellow Warwick player! I agree; his kit is pretty binary. However, I have a huge amount of success with him in ranked. He's pretty much the only ranked jungler I play, and I always do very well with him. I wouldn't want him to lose his identity as a heavy sustain jungler with cc on a rework.

The problem with a Warwick rework is that anything that could be used to create a jungling "feral hunter" like WW was put into Rengar's kit. Riot probably doesn't feel like they need to rework Warwick because any new players who want to experience the fantasy of being a bestial hunter in the jungle will play Rengar, the only people left who need Warwick reworked are his old mains and Riot knows from experience with Cass, Sona, Karma and Mordekaiser that old mains are impossible to please in reworks.

Thinking Riot wise - is because they had no opportunities for a good rework. They tried a while ago to do one, but then stuff happened ( Zenon was later on sent on working on Azir ) and between stuff it happened that they had a very good idea for an other champion - Sion - which really needed a rework too. Then there was stuff left and right, some easy and quick jobs like Fiora, a pretty big one like Gangplank and now the Poppy update and Taric; all of these probably skipped Warwick because simply had better ideas, while being on the same effort zone - some might needed more or less but the quality of ideas at that point stroke harder than needs, since after all everyone is going to get updates. The true question is - what' s after Taric? Because many people call for Yorick... but what needs more a rework? Yorick or Warwick? Who can pull of first better ideas?

Maybe they don't have any ideas on him that are large enough to test? From the Poppy rework insights, they said that she was started around a year ago (I could be wrong) so we know they don't just stare at a blank screen.

I've never played Warwick, but reading up on his abilities (I also find it interesting that he has an updated splash art in the game info section. I'm not kidding) I think the most interesting thing about him is the blood scent ability.

What if Warwick was given a unique mechanic that allowed him to track enemy movements? But only he would be aware of his target (so his teammates would need to cooperate with him to know where his target is) and his target would have a general idea of where he was (Like say when he activates the tracking ability, one of the jungles he is near light up for a few seconds).

He is a hunter after all, so having hunting mechnics would make sense. This is probably a bad idea.

I used to love WW top back before FF came out. The nerfs to him during that period ruined it, I dare not even attempt it now due to the lack of mana pots.

As a fellow warwick player (most played champion) i would say that yes we do need a rework, but if you do keep his e as it is actually a very good ability (atleast in my perspective)

He's iceboxed right now because no good kit ideas can be made up for him that will still capture and retain his current image of "the wolf man that will sustain through your damage and smell you from across the map". Same thing with Yorick, his rework is semi-iceboxed because no good ideas for his kit can be thought of without changing him completely from the ground up.

They should just move blood scent into his passive and give him another ability that gives him a gap close. Then he could gank pre 6.

Ehhh... what about Alistar? he only received a band aid on the textures. What about Taric ? i have more fun playing Ww than taric. What about Jax ? have you seen the pictures of his abilities? they are old and ugly.

warwick is the most balanced champion in all of lol. While beeing a soloQ Monster he sucks im Pre-made 5v5.

most of the cheaper champs are outdated. boring kits. thats why they are cheap. at least many of them need a visual update.

You know what i don't get is why all these new champions are being released when there are plenty of old outdated champions whom can get a Sion or Poppy level rework. They are basically new champions at this point.

These champions already have some lore which can be reworked too i suppose, and have a general idea of what they are. There are plenty of players to talk to for idea's and to get a good picture of things about a champions kit which should be preserved.

This could potentially save some workload and still get more usable and fun champions into the game.

Only thing that changed about Veigar visually was a texture update, his icons are smudges made in mspaint
