For the love of god, please give us a mute option in the pregame lobby

it's been 10 years, why do we not have this? I'm so beyond over 10 years of 14-16 year olds thinking they're the first person to say "first time x champion" in a ranked game trying to tilt the team, i literally never want to read what anyone says ever in this game, especially not before the game starts.

Report option yes, mute option no. Bad idea for several reasons.

Ban requests Role trades Pick trades Counterpicks Strategy

All more important than someone potentially being tilted from trivial jokes. Not to mention I could see the client bugging out and having everyone muted at the start.

All these people talking about how communication is important.

I literally win most if not all my games by perma-muting everyone (outside of mid lane because of the very rare chance someone actually calls mia) and emotes and playing the game. You don't need to type, Do baron. You just ping spam it. You don't need to type, play aggressive, you ping the target.

70% of the games you play are going to be filled with toxicity, shit talk, immature kids who still think that "That's what she said" jokes are funny and the occasional dick joke.

It's honestly better for everyone if you could just mute all chats in general.

If thats the case you should just dodge then. If theyre serious, youre only dooming yourself by staying. Also you would have to know theyre going to be toxic, otherwise you wouldnt mute them until they said the stupid shit that bothers you.

The point of a chat is to communicate so you can work together taking that away is just stupid.

I don't even think mute should be a thing but there are a lot of toxicity in game that requires it but there's the THING it's only in game rarely are people toxic before the game so adding it before the game starts doesn't do anything.

Like your example is just you getting mad over NOTHING. Also the only time I see players say that is as a joke.

Like the reason there is a mute is to stop you from hearing toxicity not so you can just ignore jokes.

I play support. If I see my adc pick something I'm not familiar with playing alongside, I often ask them what type of support they need for it. Your 'mute solution' would simply lead to me NEVER getting an answer to that question and always picking unsynergistic champs.

I honestly think you need to dodge those situations more than mute them.
