Jhin build

Need some input on this Jhin build I've been thinking of. It might be already what most people build but I was thinking Infinity Edge, Rapid Firecannon, Essence Reaver, Phantom Dancer, Bloodthirster, and Berserker's Grieves. If the enemy team has dangerous CC that you would need to cleanse you can swap Bloodthirster for Merc Scimitar. This build gives 100% crit chance to proc Jhin's movement speed bonus on crits so that you can kite really well and Phantom Dancer's damage reduction passive for 1v1's. Also would give 30% CD from Essence Reaver passive. No idea what the overall AD would be from this build but i'm assuming at least 500-600. Thoughts?

Your AD estimate is almost spot on. That is a fairly solid build for Jhin, and I like it. Great one m8

Thank you. I figure you don't necessarily NEED to build armor pent on Jhin if you try to get 100% crit chance. I think the only issue with this build is the fact you're banking on it getting to late game where you can become a crit monster and disintegrate everyone.

you only want one attack speed item since his attack speed damage scaling has a soft cap. you should trade the boots for either lucidity for 40% cdr or swiftness for the move speed phantom dancer isn't a good item if you don't use the attack speed, even with the damage reduction, you're better off getting some other defensive item 100% crit isn't necessarily needed as you just need to proc crit most of the time and having 3 crit items (infinity edge, essence reaver,( cannon, statik, hurricane) is more than enough.

gotcha gotcha. I knew he didn't gain attack speed from items but I was more so going for the 100% crit chance. I guess that goal of 100% crit chance and always having movement speed boosts was very late game oriented but it sounds fun XD

Sorry but why do you think it has a soft cap? Math to explain would be awesome; it looks to me like more attack speed is more % AD added on, and its the same at all points so its not like as you gain attack speed you need more to increase your ad more. Clarity there would be nice.

sorry, my fault I was thinking of something else. Jhin only gains more damage every 10% attack speed so , maybe replace cannon with stattik since it has 35% att speed? phantom dancer gives 45% att speed so unless you get 5% more that's 5% going to waste.

I recently started testing builds with no boots (running warlords for sustain and move speed quints and wanderers mastery to make up the difference). Before you completely shut this idea down, at level 1 I've got 355 move speed (out of combat) and after picking up a zeal item I make it to 371 which puts me more or less on par with tier 2 boots. In combat, I'm relying on crits to move around, so its really a question of map mobility and I would argue I can get to an acceptable level of movement speed; nothing super major (certainly no quinn) but fast enough.

Now, the build would have an infinite edge, essance reaver, phantom dancer, trinity force, Lord dominiks, and a blood thirster. This plus a red pot (or w/e that attack potion is) gets you to an even 850 AD, 100% crit chance, max cdr, idr now much move speed on crit, and has you sitting at around 390 ms before you crit (and apply phage proc). Statwise, this is the best I think you can do; I realize now I forgot to check a second phantom dancer (that might result in more ad than then trinity force) but I would argue that the benefits the trinity force gives you (slightly more health, sheen proc, and more movement speed) makes up for it.

Of course, I would say that the life steal item could change depending on the team you were playing against; it might be more beneficial to have a maw or, like you pointed out, a scimitar depending on the team you were playing against. But in an ideal game where you don't have much to worry about, I think my build is the strongest stat wise. What items to build when, however, can be a little tricky and I have only just started to test this out so I don't have enough games with this yet to see how the builds tend to work.
