Karma Rework Idea

Passive: Yin and Yang

The twin dragons watch over Karma as she casts spells. Successfully hitting an enemy with Inner flame or absorbing damage with Inspire will please them; giving her spirit power. Each stack of spirit power will give her bonus ability power for a few seconds. The timer refreshes each time Karma gets a new stack.

Q: Inner Flame

Karma fires a bolt of spirit energy, dealing magic damage and slowing enemy champions hit for a brief duration. At level 6, the twin dragons will give Karma a choice on how to enhance Inner Flame’s Mantra.

R-Q: Soul Flare

Karma fires a much more potent spirit bolt, dealing magic damage in a larger area with increased damage while leaving behind a circle of spirit fire. The spirit fire will heavily slow enemies caught inside and explode after a few seconds for additional magic damage.

Yin’s Bonus: Enemies hit by Spirit Fire will have their magic resistance reduced for a few seconds.

Yang’s Bonus: Spirit fire will heal allied champions for the duration.

W: Spirit Bond

After a brief delay, Karma summons a spiritual version of herself at a target location for a few seconds. The spirit will attack enemies in near-melee range with a fan and provide true vision of the surrounding area. At level 11, the twin dragons will give Karma a choice on how to improve Spirit Bond’s Mantra.

R-W: Spirit Sacrifice

The spirit is willing to help Karma by sacrificing its power to amplify one of her abilities. If Karma hits Inner Flame on the Spirit, it will explode, dealing the damage and slow of Inner Flame in the surrounding area. Using Inspire on the spirit will shield all allied champions in the surrounding vicinity for a brief duration. (It is worth noting that Soulflare and Defiance CANNOT be used with this ability). The spirit may be untargetable, but it can still be body-blocked by a smart opponent!

Yin’s Bonus: Hitting the Spirit with Inner Flame will instantly refresh the cooldown on Inner Flame

Yang’s Bonus: Hitting the Spirit with Inspire will instantly refresh the cooldown on Inspire.

E: Inspire

Karma shields an allied champion or herself, absorbing damage and giving them a brief movement speed boost. At level 16, the twin dragons will give Karma a choice on how to boost Inspire’s mantra.

R-E: Defiance

Karma overwhelms her target with confidence, increasing the shield strength and knocking aside any nearby enemy champions.

Yin’s Bonus: Enemies that are knocked aside by Defiance take magic damage based on how much damage was absorbed by the shield.

Yang’s Bonus: Defiance removes slows from the target and allows movement through units.

R: Mantra

The twin dragons come to life and boost Karma’s abilities for a short period of time (say 15 seconds). Karma can cast each amplified ability one time while this buff persists. Note that this ability is not learned until level 6.

I have not included numbers because that in itself would take a lot of analysis. Naturally, the base abilities would need to be buffed because Mantra would not be available until level 6.

With that said, what do you think? I thought that using the Yin and Yang choices would be a good way to let Karma choose how she wants to play each game. Each mantra choice will give you the chance to boost either your enchanter or mage attributes. This will allow Karma to adapt to any team composition according to what her team needs.
