I think that this item is kinda meh for a lot of champions, but on a few It just works like a superman buff. Just was playing and bought spear of shojin after and . I just popped my r and went in on 3 enemy squad with my e. How funny it was when I just stunned them and after 1 sec I just popped my e again, They couldnt do anything due to my e dodge and r, I just deleted them. Just i felt for a moment like on urf with jax, while i have jump every second. The only problem was that after that i was drained out of mana. Now I think how op is this item on which even dont have mana, and also it boosts hp and cdr . Not to mention good is almost 1v5 champion even without this item. This item just gives too much powerspike for certain champions, and the truth is that even without it, they will still be good. Why should they have such an op item.

Totally agree with this, item is way too oppressive, possibly wouldn’t need to nerf riven afterwards

Rageblade and Spear of Shojin both are some pretty garbage balancing items. Remove.

Keep the build path. Remove Awakened Dragon.

NEW effect: While in combat with an enemy champion, reduce damage up to ((10*nearby enemy champions)% total AD) by 50-65% (based on level)

And bring back Atma's Reckoning ftlog

Threshmain here. Very strongly agree with this post. In the last patch Riot removed the Awakened Dragon passive from Essence Reaver and made it infinitely more cancerous by sticking it on an item that has absurdly good synergy with 1v5 bruisers like Jax, Riven, Renekton (it's also good on Yi) because it now gives health, damage, and CDR.

I remember a game where we won botlane and literally could not win because the enemy team had a fed Jax with Spear of Shojin. Peeling for my adc was actually impossible because he'd ult and then leapstrike like 5 times and kill everyone. Ridiculously good itemization tbh

item 3124 is also a big threat, even bigger i'd say. it scales upon everything

for example, with a full build, master yi can achieve an effective 6.0 attack speed, now imagine 12 on hits per second

with just his E true damage alone, that's 960 true damage per second, With shojin as well, he can maintain it permanently

Big preach. For real, I really like the item but it's just way too strong. It shouldn't be in the game and even though I like it I can acknowledge it. I just want a weaker version of the original spear that just gave damage reduction.

10/10 would trade for Zephyr.

Personally, I use Spear of Shojin as an optional on bruisers (RIP the old Guardian's Horn) and on some ability driven ADCs. It gives some defensive stats, AD, CDR plus the passive. And on AD champions with a short cooldown on their ultimate, it seems decent.

They won't change spear but they will nerf the champions that use it. We need a nerf for riven BUT if jax and/or renekton gets nerfed you might as well delete them cause renekton is at a bad state right now (a lane bully/duelist who still gets countered by tanks) and jax has nerfed to the fucking ground for the reason being that certain health-damage items he builds makes him more like a juggernaut than a duelist.

while many of you dislike it. This item also makes champions such as Nocturne as viable picks.

Previously, if you played noct. There was only 1 way to play, and that was: ONE SHOT IN UNDER 1 SECOND. Now, with item 3161 you can play AS noct with cdr and be more of a diver that has access to double fear (assuming you auto attach enough). Meaning, you won't die in 0.4 seconds and you actually have time to do something. (even if only 1 seconds to react, but that's better than 0.3 )

So, while the likes or Riven or Jax are broken with the spear. Other champions get more viable and more healthy playstyles out of it. Or do you enjoy being deleted while the entire map is blank?

Or do you used to like Lethality Riven????

riven is at a 48% winrate in lower elos and still only 51% at plat+. why do people keep bitching when there are champs like yorick who have been at 55% for weeks?

Honestly Ren is weird with it cause while it does give him a ton of power 1v1 its not as broken in the 5v5 so in reality its more a lane crushing item for him. Jax on the other hand just beaks the game with the item as he's able to abuse it to the max since he's an auto attack champ with a stat boost r that doesn't effect his autos animation and do dmg during his dodge which no one can really fight against. Jax is ridiculous as it is but this item alone makes him 100% the best champ in the game for 10 seconds.
