The extra placement game we got made me get placed in something lower? (I won!)

I was just in Bronze 5 after finishing the Flex promos. I eventually climbed into Bronze 4, when Riot announces that they'll be adding an extra placement game. So I play a game, and won. Then, it placed me in Bronze 5! I was in Bronze 4? I won the extra promo, and it placed me lower.
