Malzahar needs slow on his W

After seeing the damage nerf on his W, i know that riot is obviously trying to nerf his combo. But his W? I know that it deals ridiculous amounts of damage when enemies are trapped in it by his ult, but until you got rylais (don't get me wrong, after that it becomes the best spell in the game), it felt like that was its ONLY use. I know riot is trying to stray away from the EWR combo, but if his W strays from that, where in hell where it go? Before the nerf, i already felt that his W was useless and didnt even learn it to him until about level 8 most games, but now it seems sort of ridiculous. I propose the idea that a slow, or even a pussy, barely noticable slow, like maybe 5/10/15/20/25% slow, or maybe even less, like a 3/7/12/16/18%. Anything will do. I believe that this will not only increase the amount of average, out of combo damage it will deal, but it will also prove to be more of a buff to him in lower elo than in higher elo (last time they nerfed him they mentioned that he was better at high elo than in lower elo due to requiring very precise teamwork to prevent him from getting jumped in a teamfight during his ult) I want the slow to be an area effect not a timed effect, so that the slow ceases the moment the enemy leaves the area, and for it to retain the same 0.25 second delay that the damage has This will make it somewhat of a "easy to nullify its usefullness/dodge, but very punishing if you don't do so" spell. Now; About it being a bigger buff in low elo. For starters, In higher elo, this will be a move that will force champions to use their dash/blink/leap moves to get out of it, which can be used to malzahar's avantage, such as strategically forcing their flash and then flashing out of danger, leaving them unable to follow, or to force them to flash towards you in lane, manipulating them into approaching them, despite low health (though it will be pretty hard to get them in a situation dire enough for that to serve any help without them having already recalled, much less force a flash in a specific direction) However, in lower elo, where players may not be skilled enough to counter it quick enough, it will DIRECTLY help him approach in lane, and DIRECTLY aid his escape. And dont even start about how "his lack of an escape is his only weakness and he'll be too op." Take Miss fortune for example, she has Make it Rain, which is significantly larger, and has a WAY bigger slow than what I'm asking for, and my friends say that her only weakness is a lack of an escape. Idk if they're wrong, but I really think these changes will make Malzahar, along with the nerfs this patch gave him a more technical and innovative champion, and that giving him a manipulation spell will further solidify his already trademark in-lane pressure game. And if it turns out to be too OP, please, nerf or remove the slow, not the other parts of his kit that might have become overpowered due to his new slow. Thank you for your time.

No. He's already super strong as it is. In Plat+ he's rocking a 54% winrate, second only to brand. You may have a bad time with the champ because you're simply just not good at the champ, try to get better at him before complaining about his kit.

Nah I went 18/1 and 28/7 once. Its just that it disturbs me how his W barely exists as a spell. It feels like its literally part of his ultimate. Like its just vanilla damage, and not a spell in its own. And fine then. Nerf damage more and do this buff. Or remove this spell entirely and replace it with an entirely different one. I don't want malzahar to be overall stronger than he was before, just more innovative and skill based. his W is so easy to walk out of he minds well have 3 spells.

Congrats! I never said you suck. It does %hp damage that shreds tanks. You also don't see Malzahar mains in challenger complaining about his kit, but of course you know better.

Since we're not friends I can't see your match history on the client. But I did notice you have a 0/8/2, 3/8/4, and a 1/11/4. You seem a bit far from champion mastery.

Well yea... Ive always sort of had a mental block against veigars, xeraths, luxs, and katarinas which I definately need to iron out before jumping on to the elo train. But since Im not level 30, i dont have deathfire grasp yet, so i hope when i get it it can make up for the nerf. Also, my playstyle, where I max W last, will be mostly unchanged, as the damage output at level 1 is the same. And since its % health true damage, its killing ability staysexactly the same as the game progresses without having to level it, so I guess this really wont hit me at all....

Yep! I usually max it last myself. Deathfire touch* is pretty good, but can't you get it at level 18?

Blah blah blah, he already builds Rylais anyways.

Yea, but before then his W has no use by itself until then, and it's pretty risky to rush that item, and even if you do, laning phase will be almost over.

And i really hope you read the entire piece.

And besides, if you actually read the whole article, you would know that that only supports the fact that it wont make him overpowered, as he usually has a slow on it anyways.

I main malzahar and I don't agree with that at all. He has a 3 second silence/nuke and a 2.5 second suppression, any more cc defaulted into his kit would make him OP.
