So this was just some brainstorming for s&g but if anyone has ideas or suggestions please add. Q: give it an on hit heal for allies from old q on attacking with spirit blade W: allow you to toss the blade to a location before the dodge umbrella procs. E: Re add reduced damage from pre rework R: refresh cooldowns upon completing channel

What about if he pulls the Q through an opponent he leeches life like his old Q?

Arakadia1 votes

That sounds really cool actually.

sounds fun. so not on hit but on pull.

Yeah. It does what Riot likes best and gives him a "window of power". It could be:

A: He gains a % Max Health Heal for each enemy his spirit blade passes through

B: The autoattacks that he has after pulling the blade through an opponent leech life for the magic damage he does on them

This would help Shen compensate for his poor base health with good play on his part, and make his dueling better without him becoming a Tank with kill pressure like Poppy with absurd base damages.

His dueling is already plenty good tbh, if this went through you'd need to increase the Q cd at later stages so he actually has windows of power, instead of a permanent additional %max health damage on his autos + energy back, and possibly some %max health healing.

yeah but his old q was kind of cancer. maybe if they made it a ranged skill shot that actually does damage.

Friendly Ram5 votes

How was it cancer? it was a point and click which had a small heal attached if you or your allies hit it.

ik it just seems rito doesn't want shen to do damage so i was looking at other alternatives.

his E hit box is pathetic.

I feel like Riot doesn't really want to nerf his ult because it is the most notable and powerful aspect of his kit, what really draws you in and allows visible play around it, long cooldown, potentially powerful, potentially useless. I think, though, in this case it might be better to take some power out if his ultimate if that's what is making them apprehensive to buffing Shen in other ways. As it stands I think it's be really cool if his dueling and individual power was a little higher if at the cost of a slightly weaker ultimate.

This, Riot hyped up the newfound dueling power and flexibility in his update only to take a chunk away once they realized his ultimate was left the same and the LCS was coming up. Instead of putting work into his ultimate that's plagued Shen and haunted pro play for years, Riot crippled his perfectly healthy dueling ability and wrote complete gibberish in the patch notes instead of a real reason. Sad!

If they wanted to make him more like a ninja they could give him 2.5 seconds of stealth after he ults. He teleports in and then from the shadows he jumps. His E is literally called Shadow Dash.

Reverting the Q nerf imho is the best choice, but for shit reasons Riot doesn't like Q damage being noticeable.

I really like Toastersaot's idea about Shen healing himself if he pulls his Q through an enemy.

Revert his rework while keeping the visual upgrade.

Problem solved.

Him being forced to lug his sword around is not a fun nor rewarding mechanic. It is gimmicky, thematic garbage of a mechanic that is clunky, cumbersome and bad,

Incarnation1 votes

TBH the rework feels way more rewarding now. Don't get me wrong, I loved old Shen, but I love new Shen too.

Just give it QoL buffs so he doesn't feel as clunky.

Make it so that his sword teleports nearby him regularly would help, I guess.

Q. Give his Empowered Q(pass-through)lifesteal for those 3 AAs. That or keep them the same early game, but make the damage scale better mid to late game.

W. Make it so the W is always on him. Sometimes when I want to activate it I don't have enough energy for both W and Q so I activate it but can't pull it towards me.

E. Give it damage reduction. Maybe the more enemies he hits the more damage reduction he gains.

R. Keep it the same. Maybe a bit of a CD increase or shield nerf early game.
