I don't really see why she is high skillcap when she doesn't takes skill at anything beside animation cancelling,would you explain?

The animation cancelling is pretty much the reason for the skillcap it's complicated to do properly, and mastering it skyrockets your damage. That's really only a big deal in higher elo though as a low elo riven can literally smash buttons and kill a bunch of people with no idea what they're actually doing.

The hate is actually based around her damage paired with survivability and massively snowbally nature, not around her shield exclusively. Plus the lack of resources.

Wrong. The hate is because of the shield, AND resourcless %%% champ most mobile champ in the game (kassadin is limited) active aoe cc simple build path just use straight AD Only active abilities takes skill skill beside Animation cancelling

Shield should scale with AP thought.

I think one of the most annoying things is her CD's are quite low, I'm sure if she had 20% more damage but CD's rougly 50% higher, she'd be less complained about because she'd be a burst caster that actually has weakness windows. In her current case, she's like, constantly putting high pressure and you can't really punish her.

Riven's difficult to put a cap on balancing for me. There are certain picks that can make her outright irrelevant during the entirety of the laning phase without lots of jungler ganks. I don't own Riven. I don't intend on buying her unless I get enough RP to spare for her Arcade skin, but, I can tell you now, that a Riven that doesn't know how to animation-cancel is significantly easier to deal with than one that does.

I agree with this, She is basically either a monster or useless depending on who she is matched with. If i see someone pick riven I always go Garen and smoke her hard. No matter what your skill level is with Riven, your going to lose to Garen unless he is brain dead.

Saying she takes skill is laughable as she is a toxic champ that should be completely reworked. When your counterplay to a champ is based on champ select screen, there is a big problem.

Lol she bullets garen pretty hard till like level 4 if she doesnt kill garen by level 5 she's ganna be useless lol last Time I played garen into riven she fucked up my jungler killed her and for the rest of the time I froze the lane she had 70 to mt 140 20mins in and it felt great!

If you do it right you can bully her right out of the lane right at the start, After Garens rework its even easier to do now as he actually does some decent dmg early. In most cases champs like Darius, Garen or even Trundle will stomp her into the ground hard. The skill level means nothing in these matchups. She will lose in 90% of these matchups

If your really good you can probably kill her at level 3-4. In my experience is most riven players are used to people fearing her damage and have no clue what to do when someone can outtrade her. After 1-2 kills they get frustrated and then start doing stupid things which again will allow you to feed off her.

On the other hand if you picked a squishy top and then they pick Riven, you can kiss the lane goodbye. In most cases unless the Riven is exceptionally bad, it is now a lost lane.

Too me this is piss poor design, A champ that either steamrolls the top lane or is completely and utterly useless all depending on the champ select screen was one of the things Riot was supposed to be trying to move away from from my understanding.

The animation cancels and auto attacks timed between animations make a differences between a riven god and somone who can play riven and still get fed from her toxic kit

She might not be good without animation canceling. But god fucking damn it is she annoying, 4 dashes on a low CD that don't cost anything is a bit much.
