The elder dragon execute

It's not a good idea to be adding an execute buff when there is already a butt-load of damage in the game, it's just adding fuel to the fire. I could see this being potentially a useful buff on its own, with a feeling and sense of reward for your team for securing the elder dragon, but combined with this game's damage meta at the moment seems a little too much

That's what they're going for. The bustiest, most mobile and least strategic season yet.

First I heard of this, so I just looked at the changes: Literally all of the dragon buff changes are wild insane. A fucking execute? AoE blasts every third hit scaling bunches of stats? Ridiculous. Riot stop fixing things that are not broken, how ridiculous.

How about FIX THE JG? Yikes.

riot stated in their post that "if elder dragon is taken the game has been going on too long" they want games to be short, fast and over in 20 minutes their ideal version of league is one where damage is insanely high, games are 1 sided stomps decided by the 20 minute mark, and these "dragon soul" and elder dragon buffs are suppsed to instantly end a game when they are taken they do not want long games where teams can win from behind or turn losing games around they want to reward the team thats winning, and keep doing it until the game is over

elemental dragon buffs give the wining team an advantage tower plating gives the wining team an advantage herald gives the wining team an advantage these new "dragon souls" give the wining team a PERMENANT huge buff that the losing team can never make up for (fire dragon just gives the whole team a free ludens proc every 3 seconds, the other team will never get that) this new elder dragon means that whoever gets it WILL win the game while its up, large damage buffs witha free execute that any snowball type assassin would kill for...... hell even the new items the lethality item rework means that at 2 items they give far more lethality(damage) then they currently do, and lethality works better the further ahead you are, meaning these new lethality items give the wining team a bigger advantage

riot doesnt care about any of us any of us players who miss the days when a 30-35 minute game was the norm and not the exception players who dont like the 1 sided coinflip meta players who dont like tanks dieing in under 2 seconds and squishies being absolutly insta killed

they dont care about us they only care about the chinese market, and the pro scene, both of which like short, flashy games and high damage insta kills and win/lost buffs, they make for short flashy games

to be fair, the execute you get is guaranteed to be after 35 minuets, which thereofore pretty much means every one is full build. everyone barring the utility one shots everyone anyway.

at 35 to 40 minuets it should be "end the damn game already"

ITs a huge counter to champs who dip low and then lifesteal back up, no more of that im 5% hp time to 1 vs 5 jax/adcs ect once you get hit to 20% you are executed, so anyone hit by a EZ/lux R will prob just die XD

If I understand the change correctly, they are removing the true damage burn and the dragon buff enhancement in exchange for this execute thing. The idea being to keep it at roughly the same power level but just make it more "flashy".

Personally I doubt it will make much of a difference to anything.

I hated it before I read the actual changes. This buff requires one team to get 4 dragons to proc the elder to spawn. The conditions for this buff to come out are insane. It is just a close out mechanic that will almost NEVER be seen in game.

I'm way way way more worried about dynamic terrain and how it heavily benefits certain champions and team comps from a completely random mechanic. Players should have agency over the final terrain
