Can someone explain the high MMR thought process and benefits behind taking Shyvana and Cinderhulk/Teleport to top lane? Also, how does her kit and build warrant foregoing Flash?
The idea is based around the idea of taking advantage of Shyvana's innate tankiness and combining it with juggernaut. Her mobility is rather low, and once she goes into a team fight she is going to die anyway. Flash is typically going to be used defensively for her, and so it doesn't see quite as much usage anyway.
Skirmisher guarantees she can duel on top lane against the ranged laners and juggernaut provides the bonus health needed to make her an effective late game tank.
I absolutely hate this strategy. It's annoying, and as a Jungler it makes me want to reach through the top laner's computer screen and slap them when they decide it would be great to come in and steal my Gromps. Not to mention no one at my elo knows how to do it properly, because they may as well just take flash TP and buy a sunfire cape instead. Meanwhile, I just follow my usual build as Sion and then dominate lane when it's my opponent using that strategy. If they're on my team, I usually end up swearing at them when they feed. At least, out loud not in chat because I have a sense of what's appropriate to say to people in chat. I see why you'd do it, but I don't like it, to be honest.
toads damage over time debuff works with her aoe abilities, and even thornmail.
i guess the idea behind this is, to smite toad to get the buff and deal a ton of extra damage on burnout and basically all her abilities in dragon form. its pretty close to walking with red buff into lane. i forgot who it was, but ive seen someone wreck ad carries and bruisers with thornmail + toad recently. i think it was trick2g. he tends to repeatedly find these exploits.
so smiting toad can give you power in lane, aswell as the extra power to secure objectives simply from having smite.

to get the buff, you dont actually need to kill gromp, do you? you just need to smite it and walk away? so every time gromp is up, you can just walk down there and smite it to get the buff.
Building a cinderhulk is meant to replace the sunfire cape with the added bonus of challenging smite to help melt tanks
