i was wondering if it was possible to trigger the new ancient coin in a lane by yourself by killing minions? or would it not be possible. like say i go top lane with an ancient coin would the passive gold and mana drops still happen?

Anyone is not anything. Minions can make it drop coins and mana last time I checked. Usually items say minions is the description. Not just players or anyone.

Anyone is not a being on the other side of the server. Nobody controls the minions. It's not a dumb question. It's dumb you think it is.

You don't need to. It was clearly implied.
Minions are not players. They are AI pixels which are lesser than champions.
