i can't see how to build against him. i'm pretty much forced to always use my strongest ability just to get his stupid shield down but every single time i'm about damage he gets such a tiny amount that for some stupid reason negates all the damage i could have done. how do u fight something that has such small windows of opportunity for anyone who can't have a consistent source of ranged damage.
If mordekaiser is your biggest hurdle, I recommend playing him for a bit so you learn his weaknesses etc.

You don't "beat Morde" as a tank. You just try to "not lose" lane against him.
If you want to survive better, build MR.
Depends on who you're playing.
Straight tanks tend to not do great against Morde due to a lack of damage, but then they also tend to have the tankiness and control to ensure he dies when he's ganked at their tower for pushing. Meanwhile bruiser / fighter / juggernaut types just need to fight morde early and often.
You don't; that's why people play him top these days. Morde dumpsters pretty much every melee champion in lane.
