Has anyone heard if Garen is getting any love at all?

I am a Gold Garen main, I am pretty much a one-trick at this point. I tried different builds to varying degrees of Failure an Success. An in the time of playing, I learned quite a bit, an when I am going to win. An the one main thing, is that if they there support isn't a potato with arms. THEN I am going to lose, there's nothing I can do, Garen is hard pressed to win. An though I hate to admit it, Garen needs love an this is why.

This is what I would change... To make Garen Viable, a fun champion to play against, and give him a roll as the "Crit Juggernaut"

2.) W Needs some changing if he is ever to be Good...

For EX:

W Passive : Garen gains 5/10/15/20/25 Flat + (x%) of Armor an Magic Per Lv. Garen gains +1% of Magic an Armor resist per 10 Minion kills while champion kills grant +2% on kill and 1% on Assist.

Active: Garen reduces all incoming reduces the effectiveness of Crowd Control by 10% / 20% / 30% / 35% / 40%

(This makes Garen early game tanking ability lower for better scaling late game, and ties into a more "I am a juggernaut" idea, while also giving him the job of being a actual threat. Since if he's feed (Let say 9 / 3 / 8 and around 160 CS) He's going to have 42% Armor an Magic resist bonus. This would allow him to build more damage and become a Bruiser. With two Item he would have enough armor to build the rest Health Damage items like Black Cleaver / Frozen Mallet.)

3.) Garen Passive needs to be way more for "Staying in the fight" no retreating into a bush.

Now I love "Guess what bush Garen is in", but he is part supposed to be part of the Dauntless Vanguard. He's sliced people in half (RIP Urgot) and he's a Might of Demacia! But he more like a... Gorilla fighter... Hit an Run tatics. I feel like he needs a passive that makes you want to GO IN and cut someone down an then go for the next champion. I had one idea, to keep him both a sustain fighter and make his kit synergize more with itself.

Passive; Might of Demacia Garen has a natural +10% / 20% / 35% Critical strike chance (Lv.1 / Lv.11 / Lv.16). Critical Strikes restore (2% - 15%) of Garens missing health + 10% of the Damage dealt from Critical strikes. Critical striking increase Garen abilities for a short duration.

Q - Garen can reactivate this skill, On second activation, Garen strikes again with a GARENTEED critical and then leaps into the air and spiraling up before coming down (Like in the cinematic trailer) Dealing % Health damage based on missing health in a mighty downward cleave.

W -- Garen Gains a shield equal to 10% of Health and if the shield hasn't been deplete, it is restored back into health.

E -- Critical strikes deal 1% of Maximize Health Damage per Critical Tick.

R -- NEW PASSIVE: (Since the Villian Mechanic is IMO just a gimmick for Garen...) Dauntless: While in combat, Garen critical strike chance slowly increases until he crits ( +3% per second) & Critical Strikes reduce incoming damage by 15% / 25% / 40% for 2 seconds on a 5 second cooldown before it can proc again.

Ultimate: Same thing, But instead can be charged into a critical strike (Increasing damage based on critical strike chance) that doubles its damage and stuns them in place for 3 seconds on full charge. 1 second on any other charge.

Garen new build would compliment this new style by intergrating More Health, Damage. W passive gives him a nice chunk of resistences with just one item.

I was thinking Black Cleaver / Infinity Edge / Frozen Mallet / Spirit Visage / Deadmans Plate / Mercs would do him great. Since he would have a huge health Pool with 4 Health Item, Infinity Edge now being a core, to boost his Crit damage abilities. Frozen Mallet for helping him stick to opponents.

Just... A thought.

approved.

though crit is always a difficult stat to balance champions around. it tends to be incredibly snowbally and literally hit or miss in many cases.

the main reason why crit builds can be somewhat reliable on garen is, because his spin with its many individual damage ticks effectively flattens out crit chance to a more generic % damage amp.

though a decisive strike crit can still really make or break a fight. either it takes 2/3 of a squishies health and almost immediately nets you a kill, or it doesnt and your target will probably live.

but yea. garen is really the only juggernaut who has the crit mechanic built into his kit, and it could give him his own individual nieche if the emchanic was built upon. the only real problem i see with this, is itemization. hed need to get % crit chance somehow built into his kit, since infinity edge and essence reaver are really the only crit items available to him. and even in those cases, its not exactly a juggernaut build and leaves him rather squishy.

Garen is a stepping stone champion for new players, you know, after you learn the game, you move on to more less selfish picks, and picks that help you win games instead of maybe just the lane. Until Garen gets a rework, that's all he is. Move on to something that helps your team.
