I'm sorry R E TLD for over 75% HP sounds fair to you. Now she has to land Q E TLD while locking you into an R with W to 1 shot you entirely. Anivia got what as coming and she's fine now. If only Cassio and Syndra got what they deserved too.
lol 75% HP? Not unless you already fed her. We shoudl just nerf everyone that gives you trouble in lane

Thats like saying
star cant be hit from close range, and that guy has to wait .5 seconds or so..... so if the enemy gets in on him, hes pretty much a goner without his ulti. Anivia has a wall to block them. Just because one seems easier and one seems harder does not mean their play style is completely different. You just have to be smarter about when to engage and when to just farm. That is the whole thing about playing any lane. Higher up you go, the more risk you run of being outplayed. So is it worth trying to poke for now? That is up to you. If they easily dodge your stun if you try it one time, try doing it smarter a next time. Learn how they play and what they do even if it seems random, because there is always a pattern. Its your job to find that pattern fast enough to exploit openings in the enemy's kit. In late game you need to be grouped up almost 24/7 so your solo is going to be non existant, then you play like a team and when one person provides an opening for you to hard engage, engage. hard.
I mean as soon as you drop the argument basically saying "get better bro" there's nothing more I can say to that. My point is she already had a lot of potential to be outplayed by a lot of different champs before, and with these changes, I think she's going to be trash tier. We'll see what happens to her win rate.
What i said there should never be considered such a ludicrous and stupid set of words to make a sentence. I explained how you could outplay, the reason those higher tier players play them better, and explained some of the flaws in your thinking. You want to pass off advice as saying "get better bro" thats your fault. I am not higher in rankings for many reasons, most of which are my own (most of which is playing mostly normals). That does not mean I do not know what I am talking about. Anivia will likely drop a few percentages (OH NO! WHATEVER SHALL BE DONE!!! SHE MUST BE TRASH NOW!) but she will never actually be trash. Just most champions like anivia who take any little bit of skill are overshadowed by the ease of ranked climb by the
. Just because a champions win rate is lower, does not mean they are bad. Just means people who are unskilled at playing the champion are playing them more.
You don't understand that just telling someone to outplay the opponent in lane is implying that they don't know how to do that. You're missing the point of this whole thing: Anivia has lost all her up front burst! Her damage is now way too conditional to be reliably effective. If you don't understand why that's a problem, then you probably don't play Anivia very much. It doesn't matter to me that you're lower elo than I am, but you don't even play Anivia by the looks of it, so you don't have the ability to judge how big of a change this actually is. You're assumption that Anivia will just drop a few percentage points is based on nothing. You're assumption that it's easy to climb with Jax, Garen and Yi is based on nothing. You're assumption that higher tier players will be able to cope with this change is based on nothing. In fact, it's higher tier players that will be hit the hardest by this change. Anyone can stomp a Bronze or Silver game with any champion because mistakes get made all the time. At higher elo, players don't just walk into your Q or hang out in your R for 1.5 seconds. It's the times when you just barely get your E off and chill them that gives Anivia the ability to outplay, without it, she's trash.
My comments are based on my experiences, your right. Which you basically are deeming worthless from the commentary of "anyone can stomp a bronze or silver player". So you do care if im lower elo than you. Just figured id point that out.
What you are saying here is that the Q is harder to hit? Wall changed? The only thing that has changed is the ultimate and the "key feature" in your opinion being her double damage E that makes her useless if she does not get to do the double damage within .5 seconds of the place down.
You started this thread with absolutely NO idea of what new anivia was going to bring but you claim i have no clue what i am talking about. I mentioned ways that yes, you may have known, but the question is... Are you doing it? Play for a bit, do not just jump to conclusions saying "oooohhh nooooo riot ruined anivia!" changes get reverted quite often. Saying that they are ruined before the patch even happens does nothing useful for anyone. If you said it after you played anivia for a few games you wouldnt have had me telling you that it could be for the better and explaining how you can work through this
Hard time
.
Honestly her game play has not changed as much as you claim, the only difference is she cant just ulti and E someone for a kill. Try her out for a bit.
I tried her out for 5 games by now. As you can see here: http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=An%C3%ACv%C3%ACa
Even though 5 games are not enough games to truly grasp the effects of the changes, I could get a good first impresion of the "new" anivia.
Simply put, I won 4 out of 5 games with the new anivia so far. My first game was also on perfect kda ( no deaths) and my other stats seem fine as well. With the changes in place I was going for different builds and how they feel. At first, I build her like I always did and also mastery and runepage are unchanged.
It worked, somehow. What I noticed is, that it seemed like my opponent did not new about the e r changes, seeing especialy in the game ryze flashed out of my ult when I threw e prematurely by accident. (Try stop doing something you did for 6 years. It is quite hard)
What I also noticed is, that my enemies have been quite... weak. leblanc, who could have punished me a lot, always went back with her ability where my ult was set ahead of time, which made her get my empowered e the whole game, while she did not stay long enough with me to deal her delayed extradamage. It seemed she was trying to get used to leb changes as well.
What hit me hard was the ahri game. They had twitch as jungler, and he ganked level two. For no particular reason he atacked me when I had q and e up, and so I could burst him down with ignite, q and e hit. ( q deals the same damage as empowered e when hit twice, he also atacked with 1/3 of his health missing)
I got ahead early on and also traded ahri, killing her once more and so I was 2 kills ahead already. After that nothing worked, though. Ahri simply engaged me and with twitch helping I lost my lane in the end and also the game was a defeat. What makes me mad about this is, that ahri mostly could do as she pleased, because, unless I hit her with my q, she was free to evade all of my damage. And since she build mercuries, even in case I hit my stun when she ulted, it was not enough, even fed, to stop her from killing me, because e r was simply useless in that timewindow. This game showed to me the true change of anivia.
After 4 games, I tried deathfire touch, which should be good for a control mage, as riot games does not want her to be bursty. It was realy annoying to loose every trade early game and late game showed no clear advantage to me. It is simply weaker than thunderlords, even now.
Next I am going to see if cdr will be an option, but I always thought her itemisation was more unique than most mages who relied on cdr mostly. ( always morelonimcon)
And I noticed that there are not many options of cdr items with ap... I proably have to give up on sorcere boots just to get the full crd done, which is going to be crucial for the second e in one r or q, which is going to be necessary because I will loose a lot of ap in my build due to this itemization.
But what I can definetly say is, that for those of us who played her agrresive, she did change. I have to remind myself everytime I use r now that I have to wait and keep my enemy inside her r at all means with all my abilities leaving me open for ganks and counteratacks in case I fail. Anivia was put into the position of "all in or nothing" every single encounter which is impossible to keep up with in higher rated games. ( my 5 normals games on plat elo are not high elo)
For the ease that it takes to land that double damage lock on E of hers, after a stun, you must be an anivia main who just doesnt like the damage being nerfed even though she has a big fat middle finger of a passive that you can tele before you become an egg, and still teleport AS an egg. Along with a ultimate that is pretty much free after you get a
, that is set it and forget it wave clear everything and if anything steps in then just wall off the entire lane to keep them in it, along with a double damaging Q that goes through and then you can explode to stun so you can E them with your Thunderlords Decree for almost all their health early on if they didnt IMMEDIATELY build magic resistance......... need there be more explanation as to why anivia needed a bit of a nerf? Oh yes, and low enough cooldowns to not have to worry much about not having it up when the enemy could actually get to you after a slow and stun, ulti slow, lane wall (not right away, but you know it gets there dont try to make it sound like you havent made easy plays with that wall), because your abilities will be back up.
As to comparing it to Annie, similar situation but she needs her ultimate to do the burst, which sets her back to level 6..... anivia can easily kill her by level 2. Setting her back enough that by the time annie is level 6, unless they played way passive or the anivia got ganked and couldnt get away..... the anivia would be level 6 by the time annie is level 5, anivia level 8 by the time annie is level 6
Hitting Anivia's stun isn't easy to do in lane against any opponent above silver. The problem will be that any one with mobility will simply dodge the Q, and proceed to destroy Anivia. She won't be able to do anything about it either since her ult won't proc her double dmg on E in time for any reasonable fight. You could nerf almost any other part of her kit and it wouldn't be as bad as what they did. She's now way too conditional to be viable against most mid laners, not to mention, she's lost most of her balls in team fights as well
I wanted to not comment on anything regarding these changes until after I played a bit...but its pretty much a nerf to bird..which doesn't make sense to me.Wall CD reduction is nice though.
Imo..there are other midlaners that have outclassed anivia for a while(with a few needeling slight tweaks)..not sure why these changes happened tbh.
Right now playing Anivia is very unrewarding. She forces you to basically play a passive style of play where basically you spend a lot of time farming while becoming even weaker against your laning counters with 0 compensation in any meaningful way and now her winrate might actually tank below 50% for the first time in a long time despite her abysmally low pick rate.
