Dear RIOT, why isn't the community involved in the Balance team.

People are complaining about so many things, from patches every other week to things not getting fixed and every game being a coinflip-stomp over who has the worse worst player.

Why don't you actually ask people about changes you make? If you did, even if things go wrong, you can at least say, that it's the community's fault.

Why don't you just create a simple website where you propose changes and everyone with a league account who's above Platinum can vote for or against these changes and if people have ideas themselves they can propose changes themselves.

All proposed ideas (from Riot or the community) then stay active until your balance team has either accepted or rejected them. This would mean that a) your balance team ACTUALLY has to think about each inquiry and b) couldn't just mindlessly change something with no attention to what mightbe the consequences.

Right now, people are flooding the Gameplay boards with "wrf is this", "wtf is that" and not a single time have I seen a rioter actually respond saying yes this will be fixed or no, this is alright, get gud. Instead, after a few hours, the things are buried again because there's some new crazy op shit that was introduced in the patch.

It just feels that whatever you try as a player to make the game better, it feels like Riot won't listen anyway, so why even bother telling them.

300000 $ is nothing for you, so why don't you just pay 2 Challenger players that also care about the lower tiers and a pro to do NOTHING every single day other than moderating this website and hand over the good proposals to the balance team.

I even think voting should begin at diamond elo even if that would prevent me from voting myself. Also, Master's and Challenger's votes should count more.

You don't even have to create a whole new website, if you just forced your current balance team to dedicate one hour every day to the gameplay boards and respond to EVERY single post. 1 hour isn't even much considering that's what they should have been doing for years already. Again, hire Challenger's if your current balance team doesn't have the time for it. However, "not having the time" to listen and respond to the people that pay you money is pretty rude.

Buff my mains and/or nerf the shit out of everything im bad vs. This is a accurate summery for the majority of posters in gameplay on the topic of game health or balance. A close second is I HATE CHANGE RAAAA LET ME STAY GOOD AND GIVE ME A STAGNATED META RITO. That's also awful for the game.

I seen that circlejerk on reddit about how OP supports are, but if they were OP then people would play support more but guess what? When you play support you aren't guaranteed to carry or have influence in every game. If your top laner is in a bad mood or your mid laner decides to be useless, you're fucked. They also said having 2/3rds of the gold of other roles is bad and supports should have their gold income nerfed into the ground when its already an unpopular role, or have their item costs increased which would just create even more problems than it would solve.

Unless its an obvious problem half of the time you guys have no idea what you're talking about and I would never trust any of you with making complex balance decisions. I will trust the guy who's hired to do it, and is probably very passionate about it.

Because, plainly put, players know dick all about balance or what they want. The customer can tell you all the things they want you to do, but doing them/stocking them/selling them doesnt mean theyll like it or take it. Everything sounds good until you actually have it.

Riot takes feedback where necessary, and has a mass of data and information to make the right decisions on what to do going forward. The process they have is far better than any community whatever could possibly do to improve the state of the game.

Riot would be better off making a fully mod-able custom game system based on LoL to let the community make their own things than to have the community balance the game itself. Without a way to test your own ideas and suggestions, your ideas and suggestions are not worth much.

personally i think 80% of boards posts are made by silver and below players who have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. I too have my own complaints and i think they have next to nothing in terms of merit considering im d5, which is the bronze of high elo.

That said the balance team consists plenty of people who also have no idea what they are talking about, so who knows.

So no i dont think the balance team should be forced to deal with those posts, instead they should focus on doing their job and respond to posts as they please.
