Can you reimplement Executioner's Calling?

The way lifesteal works on certain champions is just ridiculous to go against, and there's very little way to counter it if you're AD. In all honesty, Executioner's Calling gave 25 AD and 20% crit and Grievous wounds as a passive, for 1900 gold. I mean, not bad, but you're definitely losing out on damage if you are buying this, by quite a bit too. And yet there's Morellonomicon, which gives 80 AP, 100% mana regen, Grievous wounds, and 20% CDR, for only 400 gold more. This item is 2300, yet it's gold value is over 3,000 with the raw stats without the passive!

I just think it's a little stupid how the AD items are quite limited at times compared to AP.

A) almost no one bought it when it was available, even in matchups against champions who were most affected by GW (mundo, swain, etc)

B) champions who are most affected by GW have had to be balanced with its presence in mind, and this has distorted their power in an unhealthy way (such that they suck if the enemy has GW - which they usually do - but are utterly dominant if the enemy doesn't - simultaneously extorting all teams to take at least one source of GW and to shy away from the healing-dependent champs that make that GW most useful); the gradual disappearance of GW, starting most notably with EC, has not been accidental; item-based hard-counters are inherently toxic

C) Healing has counters outside of GW: burst and all-in

Removing this item was flat out a stupid thing to do.

You have an item that no one picks up because it's not worth it for people. Yet it is literally the only item of it's kind (ad+grievous wounds) and the passive on it is far to valuable to ditch with the item.

You either buff the stats/rework the item to make it worthwhile or youtake the passive and push it somewhere else. http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_super/11111/111111271/3377177-tumblr_la8xrzgo521qaqps8o1_500.jpg

Yeah, I don't really enjoy seeing a zed walk to wolves with 200 hp and come back out with 1100.

Old executioners was better even though the stats were shit because

The active was like 6 seconds of grievous instead of the current 1.5 sec an auto

item 3144 + item 3134 seems legit.

Te true answer to this lies as such: Make a scaling healing reduction/theft item.

For isntance, those of you who played wow PROBABLY know about the Death Knight ability (if they still have it) Necrotic Strike. It literally applies a debuff that steals healing from the target until the 'stacks' or 'amount' was used up.

For instance you are Cait with 50% crit and 100 AD (so 200 point crit). the enemy is a swain. cait has w/e this item is called and steals 15% of the attacks damage as healing.

Swain is healing for 75 hp/s cait autos twice over 2 seconds (1.0 AS)

cait crit once and normaled once for a total of 300 dmg. cait stuck a debuff on swain that sticks anti-healing stacks for 30(200 crit) + 15 (100normal) = 45 damage, healing her. swain WOULD have healed for 150 now heals for 115 over that 2 seconds.

Now my math is pretty bad but that is a decent reduction, is completely dependant on damage/as/CDR(if the item uses abilities). It works as an antihealing item, lifesteal item and depending ont he stats put on it could be useful for ADMelees, ADCasters OR tanks.

Personally i find that both tanks and AD need a mana regen itemization that isnt designed for casters (Unholygrail/Manamune) or offers something other than jsut mana regen and damage.

----name---- 55 AD 10%cdr +(25/50%) mp/5 UNIQUE passive: Traumatic Sadism (roflmao) 25% of damage done is applied as a stacking debuff. Heals received by the target give 50% of the healing received to the owner until all stacks are consumed. stacks decay rapidly starting 2 seconds after the last stack was added (so basically if you change targets.) Is not applied to Multi-hit abilities or items. (treated like vaynes silver bolts + runaan's hurricane)

vamp scepter(800)+Brutalizer(1337)+forbidden idol (600g)+ 263g=3000 gold

Alternatively would be cool to see that healing that the 'caitlyn' would get be turned to both mana and HP at a 50/50 ration. so if you steal 100 healing you only get 50 hp, but also get 50 mana. Could replace the brutalizer with chainvest, giantsbelt, negatron cloak or a pickaxe (would increase the gold cost to combine and change the AD to Armor/hp/MR depending on the item.

Also would be cool if you could instead enchant items... for instance enchant BOTRK to cause 15% of the healing you received as anti-healing on them. would be the same lifesteal IF the enemy was being healed.

I had an idea for this actually, but not the Calling as much as an item giving Grievous Wounds and a small amount of mana restoration to AD champions so this would be an "AD version of Morellonomicon" - the concept came from the amount of tanky champions from Demacia who seemingly can heal more than you damage them for. Not every champion can just be like Yasuo and kill anything that moves in 2 hits, so for those who actually require some modicum of skill I present the Noxian Equalizer.

Recipe: The Brutalizer + Pickaxe + 1,000 gold

Stats:

50 Attack Damage 10% Cooldown Reduction 20 Armor Penetration 10% Base Mana Regeneration

Unique Passive: Injured - When a champion is dealt physical damage while under 40% of their maximum health, Grievous Wounds will be applied for four seconds (reducing all incoming healing by 50% during the duration)

There could be a health component as well like Giant's Belt to make it 400-450 health in place of the 1,000 gold as well, which would make it a perfect anti-tank item to take down some of the more ridiculous champions that seem to regenerate more health than they lose in skirmishes, like Garen who I've seen people beat on for half a minute (three or more teammates) before the guy finally died.

For anybody continuing the lie that the game's balanced, the champions are balanced, and "you need to learn how to counter so-and-so" and everything is rainbows and unicorns, I beseech you to take a job in public office where spewing such constant untruths are considered a career requirement. Fact is, some champions snowball a hell of a lot easier than others and having a method to fight back for people who are not melee ADC's or ADC's in general is a GOOD thing. In this manner, people have to be more cautious to engage rather than just run all-in because they know you can't kill them before they can kill you, as now you have a way to cut their healing down so they must make a more intelligent decision to avoid losing more than 60% health or else they are the one finished. I believe the term used this year is "strategic diversity" right? This certainly adds a new way to counteract juggernauts and tanks, so is that diversity talk just talk or do you guys really mean it?

I think the reason why it wasn't used/brought was due to the stats it gave. The fact it takes up an entire item slot while giving low damage and no utility outside of Grievous wounds makes it feel awful, especially if you're an ADC. I know the wiki says its 100% gold efficient, but you can't rush it in lane because you'll do so little damage. That money could have gone to a item 1038 . Especially when compared to other typical AD items, the utility of Executioner's Calling is horrible.

The problem was the fact it was a legendary item with little damage/utility. I would agree that an AD grievous wounds item would be useful.

Maybe put it on item 3508 , or make a bruiser item, or make it have 60 damage and cost the same as item 3156 .

It is kind of limiting, but consider the fact that AP is for spells and not AAs. However, the fact you can apply GW with item 3165 and the Arcane Blade Mastery only makes Executioner's Calling worse.

Seenan9/2/2015, 3:09:46 PM1 votes

I'ma take a guess that Executioner's Calling was deleted in the first place because no one picked it up cause 'muh damage items'. Unless I'm wrong and Plat/Diamonds+ picked it up anyway. Grievous Wounds is mandatory against some champs but yet the only way it's possible to get currently is by innate abilities with Grievous Wounds, Morello, or Ignite. Waste 2300 on an AP item as an AD bruiser just to get wounds since you'll inevitably not have Ignite as jungler/top lane.

Have you tried using ignite?

EC was one of my favorite items when Akali was popular. Granted, the permanent healing reduction is probably a bit strong for what it is. That being said, it would probably be fine if it was added to an item active or changed to be like item 3165 and only apply on targets below a certain health threshold.
