I'm silver 2 right now. If I get Gold during preseason, will it treat me as a gold player during next season's placements? If I stay the same rank, I'll probably place silver 3-1, but if preseason ranked affects placements, I might get to start gold 4-3 right?
Preseason ranked games effect your pre-reset MMR. Assuming next season's reset is treated the same as all of the previous ones, it's approximately the average of your current mmr, and the base mmr. So say your mmr at the end of season 8 was 2000. Your mmr at the beginning of season 9 after the reset would be (2000+1200)/2 = 1600. But if you played during pre-season and brought your mmr up to 2200, then your mmr at the beginning of season 9 would be (2200+1200)/2 = 1700.
