First, there is just a level of toughness required to grind. Football players have coatches yelling and cussing all the time (despite it scientifically proven that hurts results) but they grind through it to make it to the top. With League you’ve got teammates making dumb calls and saying crap when they should know better. It’s just part of being competitive. Most people don’t enjoy that so their like me and are filthy casuals, but those who truely want to climb have to endure it.
Second, patience. If your on a losing streak, trying to force a win before stopping is more likely to hurt than help. If you lose two games in a row, you should call it a day for league and try to relax. Being tilted has huge effects on win/loss ratios and can affect you and your teams in many ways. And when you win, it’s important to be calm and enjoy yourself, because trying to grind out wins without savoring them is going to burn you out. Pacing yourself to climb consistently is more important than a giant sprint doomed to fizzle.
Third, win with confidence, not pessimism. Your team might be hot garbage, but if you grind their faces into that fact their either going to tilt or give up, making you lose either way. Making them feel confident, like saying your coming to smash the jerk who keeps killing them, or they’ve got a scaling champ (true or not) and just need to farm safely and you’ll help them do it safely is huge. Making them believe there’s hope will help them play better and enjoy themselves, both of which statistically increase your odds of winning dramatically.
That’s what I’ve gathered from lots of YouTube, twitch and personal experience. Hope that helps.
